For this weeks Camera Critters I have a few of my yardbirds. Some are just passing thru and some are here nesting.
The bluebirds are one of my favorite yardbirds and probably the first bird that got me interested in birding. Sometimes I can see them year round and sometimes they leave and come back to build their nest.

The Ruby Throated hummingbird look pretty funky.
The Indigo Bunting is one of my summer birds. Summer birds are breeders here in Maryland and have a nest nearby.
The American Goldfinches are here year round but the males turn a duller color in the winter. They look beautiful in the summer.
The female Rose Brested Grosbeak was just passing thru to her nesting habitat. She decided she needed a quick fix of bird seed to keep her going.
I hope you enjoyed my yardbirds and to see more wonderful critters please visit
Misty Dawn's Camera Critters. Thanks to Misty for hosting and thank you for stopping by to see my post.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
How lucky you are to have such colourful yard birds. I love the bluebird with his nest material. They are so clever how they construct nests.
ReplyDeleteEileen-Aren't those Indigo Buntings wonderful?! I was thrilled this spring when I finally got one to come to the feeders. We've lived in this house 4 years now and it's the first time we've seen one here.
ReplyDeleteThe Indigo Bunting is too fat to fly high.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of your birds are phenomenal. You have a great variety of visitors - it must be a delight to watch them all.
ReplyDeletelove 'em all! jealous you get to see indigos! :) and goldfinches in all their glorious color!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to see all of those birds. Although I have a feeder out, I have not seen 1 hummingbird yet this year. My lack of Goldfinches is also a little alarming.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, Love your header.. Wow!!!!!! And of course, backyard birds are always my fav's... I'd love to see a Bunting here someday. They are so pretty...
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeletethey are so colorful I envy you. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Eileen. Such joy to watch them.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, I have never seen an Indigo Bunting before and am so glad you showed this one that visited at your place. Have a very good evening and a wonderful day tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteNice group of yardbirds............I love the indigo, wish I could get some to my feeder.
ReplyDeleteI am so old I remember the Yardbirds, I liked that group.
Our usual backyard birds have been quiet for the past couple of weeks. Maybe they are nesting, or maybe it's the fact that I've been seeing more birds of prey!
ReplyDeleteMr. Goldfinch is looking good in his summer colors, I notice just a few days ago the bright yellows of the males here. I love the Indigo Bunting, I have never seen one before.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous critter shots Eileen!
ReplyDeleteMy Critter post, have a blessed Sunday!
Always love to see birds. Your images are lovely, as always!
ReplyDeleteyou have such a wonderful and colorful visitor of yard birds. wish i would have as much here too.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have lots of birds in the yard, they are definitely not as colorful nor interesting looking as yours. How fortunate of you. Who needs garden ornaments which such colors around already?
ReplyDeleteThat's an enviable selection of visiting birds. Lovely shots!
ReplyDeletePretty shots. We have seen some of these around our place too. They are lovely and you captured them well.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth : )
Your so lucky to see such a nice variety of birds!! Love the blue bird..and the indigo bunting is striking! Don't know what I'd do with myself if I saw a hummingbird..they are enchanting -and just pure magical to me. I look at them the same way I do a sea horse!!
ReplyDeleteha ha..very lovely series Eileen! Wishing you a smooth week ahead-
I agree with everyone else that you are mighty lucky with your beautiful assortment of yard birds!!! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteAmazing to me that you have these beautiful birds in your yard. Especially the ndigo bunting which I have only seen those two years in Port Aransas -- those same ones that later flew up to your yard I'm sure ;>)) Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteI like your yard birds, especially the indigo bunting, a beautiful bird I don't see in this area.
ReplyDeleteJust dropped in on your flower blog (I can't comment there) -- your latest post on garden flowers is beautiful but I was mesmerized by the beautiful header and then so glad to see the post below on iris! None here in Florida -- I hope to see some as we travel North/West (hope it isn't too late).
ReplyDeleteLove all your yardbirds. Lovely captures.
ReplyDeleteThese birds are really stunning! Hugs from Luzia.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and photos! (Love the header photo too!)
