I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
This weekend hubby and I took a quick trip to Ocean City, Maryland. The weather was in the 50's which is warm for us, the sky was blue and the sun was shining. Hubby got to see his big waves and I was able to see some great birds.
One of the many Common Loon's we saw during a stop at the Ocean City Inlet.
A view of Ocean City's inlet.
Ocean City fishing pier, still damaged from the storm Sandy, part of the newer boardwalk replaced after the storm. The Ocean Gallery has been on the boardwalk since I was a child.
I always love the cute Sanderlings running up and down the beach. What a great weekend, I am sorry to see the weekend coming to an end. I hope everyone had a great weekend, thanks for stopping by and of course I always appreciate your comments.
Join in on the fun and for more wonderful photos please visit Mosaic Monday and more from Our World Tuesday
Thanks to our host: Mary our host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer. Thanks also for stopping by to see my post. I wish everyone a happy week!

cute little sanderling. i've always loved loons. :)
ReplyDeleteNice series of photos. I really like your "Loon" shots! It's good you got to go there for a visit!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to this seaside spot, one day soon, I hope. Love the little sandpiper and the huge Indian head. That is cool. xo
ReplyDeletewow, i want to see that place in person. so cool. love the Indian sculpture. ( :
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to take a nice long walk and enjoy the fresh air. Very colorful and cheering place, too. (Yes, I had a fine weekend...first time to see the sun for two entire days in weeks and weeks.)
ReplyDeleteCute sanderling and lovely vistas from the beach.
ReplyDeleteI love the Loon. We don't believe we have them in Missouri. We saw them and heard them in Minnesota. They always make me think of Katherine Hepburn and On Golden Pond.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure even temperatures of 50s were a welcome change in the right direction. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteDearest Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures as always, my friend! Lovely place and mosaic pictures♡♡♡
Loon, Sanderling are cute; haha, I won't be able to identify all the birds you and Theresa show us p;)
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
What wonderful photos. I love those little birds along the beach, too. This is my favorite way to spend the day! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteYou have truly captured the light and reflection so well, I love seeing the ocean as it breaks - I can almost hear the sound!
ReplyDeleteSweet Hugs!
Jemma
Beautiful ocean view....I wish I was sitting there listening to the the waves crashing onto shore and the birds singing. You are lucky to be driving distance from there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery and an abundance of blue sky! The Ocean gallery looks like it has a lot of character! Great Loon shots!
ReplyDeleteAll the blues in your photos are so vibrant! The common loon is such a striking duck with the speckles on his feathers and thick, sharp bill. Great selection of photos and mosaics, Eileen. Hope you have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteA getaway trip to the seashore! How wonderful is that. Reminds me of when we lived in Eugene (Oregon)... it was pretty easy to take a quick trip to the Coast (a different Ocean, but the same sort of feeling!).
ReplyDeleteThe sanderling is great -- they skitter so fast, I usually don't get a very good picture.
Lucky you, sounds like you enjoyed the weekend. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThe sanderlings are such cute birds, so busy running to and fro. That's quite the decor on the gallery!
ReplyDeleteA walk along the beach is alwasy pleasant to do. I'm glad the boardwalk has been repaired after the hurricane1
ReplyDeleteIt was bright and suuny here today, too, after a snowy day on Saturday.
A great city and beautiful wildlife, cheers Eileen.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Eileen!

Yes, it is a lovely walk, though yesterday was a bit too hot.
Goodness I really want to visit here :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a fabulous time, Eileen! 50°F seems warm to me too...this time of year. Love seeing the sanderling!

ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely to see the sun and blue skies. Lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteYour first mosaic is stunning. Wonderful enjoyable photos as usual!

Pleased to see you recovered a liitle from your head cold Eileeen. I reckon a spot of birding combined with the fresh air did wonders too. Your pictures of Common Loons are just great. of course over here they are named Great Northern Diver and are anything but common, quite scarce in fact here on the west coast of the UK. I hope you have a better week now Eileen.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photo's and great shots Eileen. Have a nice week
ReplyDeleteI love the little Sanderling also ---but to me, NO Loon is Common. They are a treat for me to see. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteEileen, I really enjoyed your mosaic today. Dreaming of the beach and the ocean when it is still wintery here is a wonderful break. My favourite photo is that of the pier. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLovely birds! Interesting outing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place, sometimes I really miss living within an easy drive of the ocean.
ReplyDeleteYou got some terrific shots! 50 degrees...that's bathing suit weather here in Canada ;)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Eileen! I love that loon shot!
ReplyDeleteI love the Loons and the Sanderlings are so cute!!

ReplyDeleteI also love the Loon. Your mosaic is beautiful, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteHow nice for you to be able to spend a weekend at the beach in the sun. Winter is nearly done for you. Your beaches are being repaired after Sandy and ours have just been destroyed by Oswald. There is frantic efforts being made to repair them for the Easter Holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe sanderling looks light on its feet.
You have something for everyone in this blog post -- the bird watchers as well as those who like the sights. The Ocean Gallery looks like an interesting place. I love that Indian statue.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Eileen! Love your capture of the loon:)
ReplyDeleteNow I know the name of the bird I saw at the beach this weekend, sanderlings.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Ocean City, though my hubby has some Carmean relatives who live up there. Looks like a great oceanside resort to visit.
