Fireroad walk and bird count

January 9, 2014

Linking up with NF Winged   and  Skywatch Friday

On this day, hubby and I took a local walk on the fireroad near our place.. There was snow on the ground and some on the trees and  it was a little breezy day .  I have begun to count the birds in my yard and on the fireroad trail for Ebird.. These are some photos from our Pine tree loop walk..

Our neighborhood fireroad walk..

Sky above the tall pines.

Wind blown snow and a sunburst.

I really loved how this scene looked during our walk..

A regular at my feeder is the female Downy Woodpecker.

The Male Downy woodpecker is another regular visitor to my yard and feeders.

This past weekend we saw a beautiful sunset..heading home from Walmart.. I hope you enjoyed my post and the woodpeckers..

To see what bird are being seen in your area this is a link to EBIRD

  3. I love the trees with the sunlight filtering through the pine boughs!!

Your bird count is impressive. I did the CBC just for myself and started out keeping count and gave up 'cause some of the birds [like grackles, cormorants, pelicans, and others] were way too massive in numbers. So, I just started marking them off by species/name.
