Linking up with Skywatch Friday and Good Fences
My skywatch and fence shots are from the Jersey shore.. along the Cape May beach they had fencing up near the dunes to protect the breeding and nesting Piping Plovers and Oystercatchers..
Some fencing along the beach is sturdier protecting the dunes. The sky was kind of gloomy when we arrived. And it was not the best morning for taking photos..But LOL, that does not stop me!
Other fencing was temporary to protect the nesting birds like the Oystercatcher above. This fence does not stop the birds like this Piping Plover from walking along the beach but it does help to keep people out.
Some scenes from our walk along the Cape May trail..
The skies around Cape May did clear up and we enjoyed our time there.
The Mute Swans seem to like hanging out at the Cape May ponds.. I included this shot in a mosaic on my previous post. But, I wanted to share the whole photo. I like the reflection.
We left Cape May and drove up the Jersey coast to the Edwin Forsythe wildlife refuge it is located close to were we were staying in Atlantic City. Above is a shot of the Osprey couple and nest with the Borgata Hotel & Casino in the background..
A view of the sunlight over the wildlife refuge.. I hope you enjoyed my post..

HI Eileen Wonderful fence shots. Love the Piping Plover, the reflection of the sleeping Swan and of course the Osprey. Just off to the ferry now. Hurray!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post from a new location Eileen, and wonderful to see 'your' Osprey, no doubt related to 'my' Osprey :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you are making me want to go back to Cape May! How delightful.
ReplyDeleteCape May is so beautiful...fencing along the dunes seems to belong to the beach, if you know what I mean. It "goes" with it. Adding the birds you spotted is perfect, especially that nesting couple!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Eileen
ReplyDeleteLoved the shots--I always look forward to your adventures.
Glad the skies cleared up for you, but I gotta say-even gloomy weather looks fine there!
Have a wonderful day
In Hubby's youth, he was a lifeguard for The Virginia Hotel in Cape May. I think it might still be there. One day we plan to go for a visit. Lovely beach shots and the fences are awesome!
ReplyDeleteYour Garden State has lovely views on their beaches. The swan photo is lovely...kinda shapes a heart at the top, the way his neck folds in to his body. What a full day to spy an osprey nest, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, love your post. I liked the misty shots at the start.
ReplyDeleteThe beach fence looks nice, not out of place.
The sun over the wildlife refuge photo is just brilliant :D)
