I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday and Mersad's Through My Lens and NF Trees
They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun and check out some of the participating posts.
I am sharing some of the lovely flowers and butterflies seen around my yard this past week or so. The butterflies are mostly the male and female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, the Great Spangled Fritillary and the Spicebush Swallowtail.
An Eastern Tiger Swallow on the bloom of the Butterfly bush also known as Buddleia. This bush is also known to be an invasive species. We are finding small plants growing all around our yard. They do attract the Hummingbirds and all kinds of Butterflies.
My male Ruby-throated Hummingbird is always a treat to see.
The past two winters have done a number on our bushes. The Buddleia butterfly bushes seem to be a little scrawny looking and do not have as many blooms as in the past. I hope you enjoyed my blooms, butterflies and post.
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I appreciate the nice comments..

Oh, Eileen these a fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI can live without a butterfly bush. They are so beautiful as young plants but they get so big and pruning them is always disastrous. But the echinaceas are to die for... the ones in your garden are stunning and the butterflies love them. I think I saw the second butterfly on an echinacea the other day.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos here. Have a great week!
I love the butterflies and the coneflowers. Have a happy week, Eileen!

ReplyDeleteThe echinacea is always picturesque - the more so for the winged jewels! Buddleia was one of my mother's favourite plants but it sure does need a bit of 'taming'! YAM xx

Wow, that is really a wonderful series ! Love the butterflies !
ReplyDeleteMy coneflowers are struggling in this god-awful heat. Yours look beautiful! That Ruby-throated is a sight for sore eyes. I wonder where ours went? Haven't seen them since May. Beautiful butterfly shots, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThe butterflies on the pink coneflowers(?) are stunning -- love all your picures; that invasive bush doesn't sound bad if it attracts bees and butterflies!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Eileen. I've tried to capture butterflies before but they move so much in an unsteady many that I've never really got a great shot.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had all those coming to my yard...my mom had a butterfly bush and there were always lots of butterflies and a nice variety. I guess I should get one...
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy your pics...you got some lovely captures.
Hope your week ahead is a good one!
Lovely shots Eileen, the butterflies are beautiful have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteAt church on Sunday, the priest sermoned that sometimes we need nature to clear our minds and get perspective. You do that for us everyweek with all these wonderful nature shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good selection of butterflies too Eileen, great photo's.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead.
All the best Jan
Hi Eileen, I have a love of butterflies and your photos are so pretty. That little hummer is beautiful too. I thoroughly enjoyed your post. I'm taking a short break; John is having difficulty with diabetes but I'll be checking in with you.
ReplyDeleteI wish my butterfly bushes would seed around a bit Eileen, we lost one in the backyard this winter and another in the front is stunted in growth. If the ones in my butterfly garden completely died, I'd replace them in a minute for the hummers and butterflies they attract - plus I love the honey scent of the flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Your yard reminds me of my next door neighbor and the one across the lane, such lovely flowers that draw many beautiful butterflies. Just beautiful. Have a Happy Week Eileen~
