Patapsco State Park

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

It seems like I will be sharing summer photos well into Autumn. On this day hubby and I went on our walk at the Patapsco Valley Sate Park, an area known as Avalon in the park and is located in Baltimore County. We walked on one of the many trails called the Grist Mill trail, checked out the swinging bridge and the Lost Lake. This trail 2.3 miles follows the river and the railroad bed.

For my skywatch entry, it was a pretty day to be out for a walk.  A lovely sky with the puffy white clouds. Some people were tubing or playing in the river.

Some scenes from our walk around the Lost Lake. The butterflies were enjoying the Joe Pye weed.  Lots of butterflies, turtles and dragonflies.

Some pretty Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterflies and the Joe Pye Weed.

I believe the top left is a Cardinal, an American Robin, A cute tired Golden Retriever pup we met on the trail, and a view of the Patapsco River.

A larger view of the Lost Lake. For Tex's Good Fences entry you can see the fence far across the lake. And you can see a slight reflection of the sky and clouds on the lake.

The Grist Mill trail, there were some small bridges that crossed some creeks that went into the Patapsco River. I think this also counts as a fence photo for Tex's Good Fences meme.

The Swinging Bridge was fun as long as like me you did not come across a bicycle rider who could not read the signs.

For my Skywatch, above the sky on the day of our visit to the park. There were some people playing in the Patapsco River. I hope you enjoyed our walk at the park, the birds, sky and scenery! Thanks for stopping by for a visit and for your nice comments. Have a happy day and weekend ahead.

To see more pretty skies from around the world please visit  Skywatch Friday
and check for more fence shots at Tex's Good Fences

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences and thanks to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday.    I wish everyone a happy day and weekend ahead..

It looks like the weather is still warm going by the number of butterfly's on the wing.
A scary thought meeting a bike rider on the swing bridge - not for the faint hearted!

Hi Eileen, Really lovely butterflies. I am including a Swallowtail in tomorrows post on my blog. A happy coincidence. I like the pictures of that river. I miss seeing regular non swampy rivers (those without Alligators especially). Have a fine and happy weekend!

  65. A beautiful area to enjoy a walk Eileen ... very similar to where I live with the creek :) I think I'll have to put some Joe Pye Weed into my garden since the butterflies enjoy it so much! I'm seeing quite a few monarchs fly through, but I don't think they like any of my flowers. I even planted some milkweed for them, but it's not very tall yet this year. Have a great weekend!
