Saturday's Critters #90

Saturday's Critters #90

Happy Labor Day weekend!

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.  On my previous post I shared just the Little Blue Herons, during our visit there were many more birds to be seen at this park. I am sharing some more of the birds and turtles seen during our visit to the North Point State Park.

One of the many Ospreys we saw during our visit to the park.

There was a family of Ospreys, above I captured three Ospreys on this one dead tree.

One of the many Great Blue Herons also seen at the park.

We also saw 4-5 Tricolored Herons, this one was right above us as we walked down the trail.

It may be hard to see all three Tricolored Herons, but they are all in this on one dead tree near the trail.

I was able to zoom in on the face of this Tri-colored Heron.

Above is the male Common Whitetail Dragonfly.

One of the many slider turtles we saw on this day. I hope you enjoyed our visit to the park and my birds and critters. Thank you for stopping by and for your nice comments. As always I appreciate everyone who is linking up to my Saturday's Critter party.  Have a great weekend!

  27. Hi Eileen. "Many Ospreys", Fantastic - I should be so lucky, more like one a year. And your Tri-coloured Heron shots are just ace. Looks like a fabulous place to bird - but I'd never get home.

Thanks for the link-up today. And have a great and relaxing weekend.

  28. As more of a raptor follower, I love your shots of the Osprey. That is not to say I don't also love the herons, especially the tri-colored Herons since I have never seen one here in the midwest. Nor have I ever seen the white tailed dragonfly ... perhaps they aren't so common in this part of the country. It is amazing what a short distance means in terms of the wildlife populations. Great post, as always, Eileen.

  29. Ospreys are common here, as they are in your part of the eastern US. During my recent trip to the UK it was interesting to view first hand the reintroduction programme at Rutland water. The presence of Ospreys draws in people from all over the country.

  30. the tri-colors are so neat! would love to see ospreys, too.

  31. Awesome photos Eileen . You get a lot of birds there that don't seem to camera shy lol here they are all so skittish and if one gets with in 50 feet of them they take off lol . Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !

  41. Your heron shots are majestic, Eileen.

Do you get harassed by insects much? I was playing golf in the State Park yesterday, and the gnats were especially insane.
