Saturday's Critters #96

Saturday's Critters #96

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

Hello, I had this post scheduled to go in case I was too busy. These images are from our visit to Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge on Sept 2nd. Hubby and I always enjoy seeing the birds and wildlife during our visit to this refuge.

Above a female Belted Kingfisher posed nicely for me. I was surprised usually the kingfishers are very shy.

A large group of terns, various ducks and gulls.

Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets, American Avocets, Black-necked Stilt and gulls.

A Green Heron is usually seen at the Finnis Pool.

The Belted Kingfisher was posing so nicely.

A frog, wildflowers and slider turtles.

I just loved this frog, he/she looked like it was smiling at me.  I hope you enjoyed my birds, frog and turtles. Thanks for visiting my post and for all the nice comments.  I hope you enjoyed our visit to Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge.

As always I appreciate my blogging friends joining in on my Saturday Critter party. Thanks for linking up and I also appreciate the nice comments. Have a Happy Weekend

  3. Hi Eileen, thanks for showing this beautiful post. *Sigh* how I miss seeing kingfishers but loved your Belted Kingfisher. Grant and I were fascinated as it looks a lot like our Giant Kingfisher. We wondered how big your Belted Kingfisher? Ours is 44cm tall and weighs 375g. Thanks for hosting this Critter meme. I love searching for subjects to photograph and post here. Have a great day. Jo

  31. Good morning Eileen, goodness what a happy, smiley frog indeed! I just adore that face, and I'll keep his image in my mind all day. Funny thing about my dear frogs, since coming back from Alabama I haven't seen one! I know the nights are getting colder and we had a few cold days, but gosh last Sunday night on my return it was still 80 degrees outside. Perhaps it's their time to go where ever it they wander off too. Enjoy your weekend.

  65. Love your photos of the kingfishers. They're such pretty birds and their head is so huge compared to the rest of their body. Perhaps it's because the feathers around the head are fluffed all the time!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I like your smiling froggy, too, Eileen. I think he or she is a bullfrog.

  72. So envious of the wonderful pictures of the Kingfisher. The green heron is great too (but I am not as envious -- I've actually been able to get a decent picture of that bird, but not of a Kingfisher). The frog is absolutely adorable!!!

  73. I think that is the best photo of a Kingfisher I have ever seen and the same goes for the frog. Those are truly spectacular photographs, Eileen. Also loved the Egrets, terns and seagulls, and especially your gorgeous Green Heron. Thank you so much for this wonderful meme and for your own amazing contributions to it.
