I am linking up with Skywatch Friday and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.
Where does the time go? It seems the weeks are flying by, Christmas is next week. The Winter Solstice is on Dec 22nd, it marks the shortest day and longest night. The first day of winter, we have been enjoying somewhat of a mild dry November and December so far. I love the warmer weather if only it would stay warm.
I am a little short on fence shots this week but I noticed the fence seen behind the Blue Jay on my deck. Also, I am sharing some moon shots taken from Nov 27th through Dec 6th. I hope you enjoy my post.
The Blue Jay was helping to clean up the mess that the squirrels left on our deck.
The moon setting, various shots from Nov 27 through Dec 6th.
These images of the moon were taken later in the morning on Dec 6.
I love taking photos of the moon and my Canon SX40IS is awesome for moon shots. Thank you for stopping by and most all for the nice comments. Have a happy day and weekend ahead..

i have not seen a blue jay in a while. they are usually screaming around here all the time. i wonder where they ran off to? we heard a few woodpeckers yesterday. the forest holds lots of birdies. great shots, Eileen. ( :

Wow, your jays look so different. Very handsome.
ReplyDeleteHello, Eileen! I hope you and your family are well and having a wonderful holiday season! How beautiful the bluejays are! Here on the Texas Gulf Coast our bluejay population was decimated several years ago by a virus. The good news is that they are slowly but surely coming back. We hear them in the woods more often than we see them though. Hope you have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello, dear Eileen! The Blue Jay is such a beautiful bird and your moon shots are always lovely!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a most blessed Christmas and a happy new year! ♥
A Bluejay looking at the moon, fantastic images.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy the blue jays---hubby despises them . I know he just cringes when I send him out with a handful of peanuts, but I find them intelligent and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Eileen. Hard to believe how fast it's going this year!
The Blue Jay is so beautiful. Wonderful shots of it, and the moon!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day. Here in Norway it is evening now :)
The Blue Jay is one pretty bird. I love your moon images.
ReplyDeleteVery nice moon shots. It is fun to do a series.

These are such wonderful photos, Eileen. Bluejays are not the easiest to photograph...and I hear them in the trees but they rarely come within a close enough distance....moreso in the wintertime. They are such stunning birds. The moon has been so beautiful too but haven't been able to see it much through the trees in the yard. Enjoy your Thursday!
ReplyDeleteLovely bird pics, Amazing photos of Moon.
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Great blue jay pictures. Such pretty birds.
ReplyDeleteThose moon shots are fantastic as usual.
beautiful birds and moon - happy weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely moons, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteI fear we're going to regret this warm winter, and many to follow. One of the reasons we're losing so many trees on Cacapon Mountain is their insect pests are taking advantage of warmer climate to do more damage.

nice to see the Blue Jay again. Is it a winter bird for you?
ReplyDeletegreat shots of the moon, what settings do you use to get it this sharp ?

ReplyDeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteI have a Canon SX40 that I use for moon shots instead of my "big" camera. It does a great job.
I love looking at the Blue Jays in your photos, but I hope they all stay in your neck of the words and leave my feeders alone. They just take over here and are such a problem. Lovely moon shots.
