Merry Christmas 2015

I have a list below of memes I am joining for this week, and to save time I am doing one post for all. They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun  and check out some of the participating posts. Special thanks to all the wonderful host and their memes, I hope you have some time to check them out.

I wanted to wish Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.  Wishing you peace, joy and all the best this holiday season has to offer. Best wishes to you and your family.

The Cardinals just remind me of Christmas, the middle photo was from last Christmas.

This year I am going with less is more when it comes to decorating. I did not decorate much around the house but I did put up the Christmas tree.

Recently for my son's 23rd birthday on  Dec 7th I created this mosaic of Brian during our various trips while growing up. The mosaic brings back many happy memories of trips and fun times with our son.

I hope you enjoyed my mish-mash post and images. As always I appreciate your visits and nice comments. Thank you! Have a happy day and new week ahead!

Thanks for visiting my post and as always I appreciate your comments.

  16. Hi Eileen, I enjoyed this post, as always. You are so right about Cardinals being the perfect bird for the holiday season. Those are some fine cardinal photos! The "Merry Christmas" cardinal is just perfect! Enjoyed your other photos too ... I agree so much with just keeping the decorations under control. Your tree looks great. That is a neat mosaic of Brian during your various trips ... well done! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

  17. I, too, did the "less is more" decorating this year! I was just so busy living life - and then recovering from a stupendous Thanksgiving! - that it just seemed impractical to drag everything out for 3 weeks and then return it all! We put up a big tree, though, like you did - and I really enjoy that!
    Merry Christmas, Eileen!

  24. Hi Eileen
Loved the mosaic of your son--such happy memories.
And Cardinals are the best Christmas bird of them all.
Hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

PS---I expected a huge decorating extravaganza with your retirement. Too busy having fun, aren't you? You'll find that the longer you're retired , the less time you have. It's one of the great joys of it all.

  67. Merry Christmas, Eileen, and thank you for stopping by. I like your idea of making a grouping of memorable times with your son. It surely will be treasured for years to come and is in keeping with your “less is more” mood. A single mosaic is a great alternative to shuffling through big photo albums to find those favorite photos. :)

  68. A very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, Eileen. And have a wonderful New Year. The cardinals are indeed very festive-looking birds.

  69. Wonderful scenes with your son. Happy times.
I am decorating less also. We always get a live tree and then add it to our property.
Cardinals make the very best Christmas birds.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS.

  70. Love the memory mosaic of travels with your son! A great idea. Cardinals do seem like Christmas to me too , especially since the only ones I saw until I was at least middle aged were in pictures on Christmas cards! (Since they don't hang out in the Northwest). We do see them fairly often nowadays , but I still get excited and happy when I do! Merry Christmas!

  71. Yes, I always love your mosaics - so special and eye-catching, Eileen. And the Red Cardinal, as you will know by now, is my biggest regret in the sense that I came home from my only visit to the US (Philadelphia and NYC) without having seen one! So I love seeing these festive birds all the more on your blog! Happy Christmas!
