Just Local

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

Still cleaning up some old files and another short post for my Skywatch Friday and Good Fences I am sharing various scenes from my neighborhood and yard.

Not far from our house we pass this rural scene on the way to my son's house.

The geese were enjoying a field that was recently cleared.

The sky during one of our recent walks looked pretty.

The only snow I've seen so far this year on Dec 19th, a light dusting on our deck. BTW, you can see our fence just past the deck railing..

A sunset from our deck, I like the pretty pink clouds.

Here are two shots of the moon taken on Dec 20th.

I had to wait till the moon rose above the trees for a clear shot. I believe there were some thin clouds around the moon. Someone previously asked about the setting for my moon photos. These are straight out of the camera which was on the AUTO setting and were hand held. I do not use a tripod for my photos, maybe they would be better if I did.

I hope you enjoyed the scenes and images. Thank you for stopping by and most all for the nice comments. Have a happy day and weekend ahead..

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences and thanks to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday.    I wish everyone a happy day and weekend ahead..

  3. I think your moon shots are terrific--I think the cameras nowadays are so good-even just using auto settings can yield spectacular results. I have a bit of trouble with night shots just holding the camera--I guess I shake a bit. Yours are nice and clear.

  5. We haven't seen any fields of geese here yet this year. Probably because they are fat and happy in fields around your house. I know some people don't like Canada geese but I'm always glad to see them.
What stunning photos of the moon!
Hope you have a good week and see lots of nature next week!

  18. I always love seeing birds out enjoying nature. We have a lot of water out here and it's always filled with ducks and geese (except for right now because it's frozen)

  19. The geese are surely enjoying themselves, what a lovely field. Your dusting of snow is much like ours so far this year. We've had a couple of light snowfalls but nothing to call extreme yet! (Makes me happy, except for no snowmen around the yard yet.) Enjoy your day and easy winter weather for us all!

  25. Lovely! Especially the first one.
For a makeshift tripod I sit down, hold the camera with both hands, and place my elbows on my knees.
    Have a wonderful week-end!

  28. Great shots Eileen! I'm missing the snow this year, but we had "conversational snowflakes" on Monday, so it's a start. I could do without the cold though, but it's January, and so we're just bundling up. Hope you've had a good week!

  29. Wow that is a bunch of geese for sure enjoying that field. We've had some snow this winter but not a lot (which is fine by me) but it's been cold. I'm so ready for it to warm up. - Gosh your shots of the moon are amazing. So what type of a camera do you use to get them? I cannot get a decent shot of the moon at night no matter if I use a Tripod or not.
