Great Falls National Park

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

One weekend hubby and I took a day trip to see the Great Falls NP, the water levels were up high due to all the snow melt and the rain storms we had recently.

For Teresa's Friday's Hunt...
1. the letter M
2. week's favorite
3. Bird or wings

A favorite photo,  the sky and the reflections are pretty. We had a nice sunny day but a little chill still in the air as we walked on the C&O Canal Trail at the Great Falls NP.

I like this curvy trail the Great Falls NP.

The Great Falls overlook, a pretty sky and the Potomac River was looking pretty forceful.

The birds I saw at the park were the Tufted Titmouse, Canada Geese in flight, Great Blue Heron, Mallard ducks and more Canada Geese.

My YOUtube video taken at the Great Falls NP in Maryland.

For Friday's Hunt and my week's favorite I have a red sky sunset capture.

As always I hope you liked my photos. Thank so much for stopping by and for the nice comments.

  7. Good Morning Eileen!:) Your sky image is breathtaking, a sailers delight, and mine too. Delightful bird collage as well, and I especially love the image of the sweet Tufted Titmouse. I would not like to fall into the rapid moving water of the Potomac River after seeing the video clip. An awesome sight!

  22. Fantastic photos and video Eileen. I love going to Great Falls but see it from the Virginia side. The level does look high in these shots and maybe a little too dangerous for kayaker making their way down all that rushing water. I had fun watching them last time we visited, while saying to myself there is no way I could do that :) Have a great day!

  30. What a pretty sunset!

When I was a youngun, we took a trail called the "Billy Goat Trail" to see the falls. I wonder if it is still there, or maybe washed away?

  55. The river looks so treacherous with the rapids and muddied waters. Great video you took as well so you can get the full effect! This looks like another beautiful area that you visited.

I also read your previous post on the local farm restaurant. What a nice setting for the restaurant, and nice that you are able to take advantage of it too. You'll have to search for that eagle's nest again ...don't they return to the same nest each year? Here there are signs posted at parks NOT to feed the Canada geese since they become such a nuisance since many no longer migrate. I wish I had red-bellied woodpeckers come to my feeders, they have such striking colouring :)

    Happy Easter Eileen!

  63. I really do like your bird picture arrangement, Eileen's. Thank you for telling us their kinds too. If you peek at mine perhaps you could identify my single bird. I only can identify black birds, robins, woodpeckers, none any narrower than that even for those names.
