Hashwha Nature Center

Hello,

These are some images from our walk at the local Hashawha Nature Center. It is one of our favorite local parks to walk and enjoy nature. There is usually always something great to see there.

The trail going towards Lake Hashawha.

It was a good day to see the butterflies, below are the Great Spangled Fritillary butterflies.

A Belted Kingfisher landed in a tree right above our heads.

It was a pretty sky and cloud day. Great for skwatching.

A bridge and railing on the trail for Tex's Good Fences.

Some Sulfur butterflies, I am assuming they are the Clouded Sulfur. Please let me know if my id is wrong.

For Tom's Barn Collective and Tex's Good Fence here is a barn and fence scnee seen along the ride home.

As always I hope you enjoyed your visit and my photos and post. I appreciate your nice comments. Enjoy your day and the weekend ahead!

Here is a list of linky parties for part of the week, I hope to see you there.

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences.
Thank you to Sylvia, Yogi and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday.
Thanks to Tom the host of The Barn Collective

  3. Those are some seriously blue skies - not seen that for a while here - we are having record September rainfall, and we have only had 15 days of September so far!

  19. Awesome that there are so many butterflies that they gather together in groups. We have had very few this year. I think I have seen only two Monarchs all summer ... so sad. Not sure why that is happening. I used to get many in my yard and I have a lot of Milk Weed on my hill. Well, I am happy for you that you have so many wonderful places to walk and so much beauty to take in. Have a good week and weekend, Eileen :)

  20. That last shot is stunning. As I viewed the narrow foot bridge, I wonder if I would dare cross it although it did look very sturdy.

  21. Your countryside is just lovely! And, narrow, out-of-the-way bridges are so fascinating. And, you get great shots of some very pretty butterflies. Have a wonderful weekend.

  47. Hi Eileen, well it is Thursday and I finally made it to your blog. I cannot get there by using my laptop and we share this desktop. I love this share and seeing your butterflies are wonderful. I have seen so few this season...finally saw a Monarch and it had slightly battered wings. I also saw a Fratilliary just this afternoon and it was sadly torn and I took no photos. The Summer has escaped me, no vacation again this year and so I am going to enjoy seeing where everyone else has been visiting and pretend I have been there with you~

  59. I LOVE how you know all the names of these birds and butterflies etc. :) I had one visiting a week or two ago ad did a post about her but no clue as to her name.

Why it was "Great Spangled Fritillary butterflies" according to Eileen.

Now if mine was not, it was a close cousin! :)
