October already?

Hello,

October has arrived quickly for me, the days are just flying by. We are dog sitting for our grand-doggie Nibbles the first week of October. Our son and his friends are going on a cruise. I hope he has a great weather for his cruise. Their cruise ship returns to Miami tomorrow, please say a prayer for all in Florida and the path of Hurricane Matthew!

These are some photos from our daytrip to Shenandoah National Park. When we first arrived in the park we saw some fog and low lying clouds over the mountains. We still had some nice views of the valley and river. We took our favorite walk on the Limberlost trail and we saw a Black Bear in a tree near the Big Meadows campstore parking lot. I will share the bear on my Saturday's Critter post.

The mountain tops are hidden with these clouds.

Looking down at some house and barns from the Skyline Drive.

Some scenes from our walk on the Limberlost trail.

Isn't this a cute place, I could zoom in from one of the park's overlooks. I love the farm house and there is a nice red barn.

My last two books were Magic by Danielle Steel and the #10 Anniversary from the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson. I recommend and enjoyed both books by Steel and Patterson. They are two of my favorite authors. I am now starting a new series by Lauren Carr, the first book is called Kill and Run.

Thank you for visiting and as always thank you for the nice comments.  Have a great day and new week ahead!

I do love looking at the views of the misty mountains and down on the beautiful house and barn. I have not see those type views since 1959, this is like traveling back in time... GA and FL the parts I am in or flat as a table.

Hi Eileen, great views from Skyline Drive. I am looking forward to taking Limberlost Trail now that my ankle seems to be behaving itself :) The bear sighting is amazing especially as it is so close to the store. I know it well. Look forward to your photos. My son saw James Patterson down in Orlando recently. He was one of the guest speakers at my son's business conference. He was down there for a week. He said he was great on stage.

Eileen, Great shots. The most intriguing for me is the second one where the is a stone border along the road. Is that to prevent cars from going over? Sylvia D.

IT seems so often we get to the top of a lookout and the haze or clouds obscure what could be a great view. I too would zoom in on that little farm. The red roofs are attractive. Your header is beautiful.

Hello Eileen. You certainly found some great scenery on your visit and came up with some stunning pictures despite a little cloud. I'd sure like to try that skyline drive but I'd need lots of places to stop and take pictures.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
