Herons galore

Hello,

Joining in today with a couple of my favorite memes Michelle's Nature Notes and Stewart's Wild Bird Wednesday.  I am seeing lots of birds during my stay in Florida, I do miss feeding my yard birds but these Florida wild birds are just wonderful.

These herons were all found at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland Florida.

The Green Heron has always been one of my favorite herons.

The Black-crowned Night Heron is another favorite.

The Great Blue Herons are a common bird in Florida and at the Circle B.

I hope you enjoyed my wild bird photos and post. Thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

My list of memes for today, I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the host below.

Thanks to Michelle for hosting Nature Notes

  3. They are also pretty and every time I see a green heron I think I wonder who named those guys because I don't see you as much green as I see other colors. Like the blue herons are definitely blue

  21. Wow Eileen. You have some really super heron pictures there. Florida and all of its water systems seems especially good for herons. And you are clearly enjoying the warmth of that southern sunshine. Take care, and have a Happy New Year.

  49. Hi Eileen, The only time I have seen a Black Crowned Night Heron was at Sanibel Island, FL, at the Ding Darling Preserve. I was just thinking about the Green Herons this afternoon. No, did not spot one, did see a Little Blue (a pretty rare thing here in recent weeks). Have an outstanding day tomorrow! By the way, I saw a pair of Bald Eagles (no pix) over the lake in my neighborhood this afternoon and it was after a White Ibis in flight).
