More from Circle B Bar Reserve

Hello,

Happy February!
Sharing another sunrise over our local lake and a visit on 11/25/16 to Circle B Reserve here in Lakeland Florida. I am enjoying our daytrips, it nice to be able to drive off in any direction and find a great park, beach or wildlife reserve.

Sunrise over our community lake.

A Pileated Woodpecker.

A Great Blue Heron

Some of the pretty flowers along the trail.

Not sure if you can see them, but there are three large dragonflies in this photo below.

A pretty sky and view at Circle B Reserve

My favorite ducks, the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks.

One of the many gators at Circle B reserve. What a big mouth he has!

My Thankful list:
I am thankful for each day I wake up.
I am thankful for all I have.
I am thankful for my hubby.

"If all you did was just look for things to appreciate you would live a joyous, spectacular life. " Abraham Hicks

I'm very surprised to see a Pileated. I always thought they were a bird of the far north.

  7. That woodpecker had to be one of my favourite birds. Luckily I have seen them in the flesh - A friend of mine gets them in his garden in Ohio!

Aren't the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks so cute, I love their faces.

  20. I know we are both thankful to live in this part of Florida and have so many places to go and enjoy nature. You take amazing photos! We don't get out very early for our trips but we need to branch out some. Would love to go to this reserve! We went to Homassassa wildlife park yesterday. We saw over 100 manatees in the river! The most we've ever seen! Hugs!

  40. Great sunrise shot. Pileated Woodpecker is not uncommon here but for a big, gaudy bird it can be difficult to find. I remember years ago in Florida seeing three together on a utility pole. I thought it was remarkable but the locals didn't seem to be too gobsmacked!

  45. I adore your Florida -- it is a lot like mine, except yours has better pictures. The GBH shot is quite something with the open bill -- I don't think I've ever seen that before (except once when I caught one with a fish).
