Saturday's Critters #203

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Sharing some birds from our visit to Lake Erie and Presque Isle State Park in Pennsylvania.

We tried to get to park early in the morning, I wanted to see if I could find some new birds. We did see lots of Wood Ducks.

We watched this Belted Kingfisher banging a fish against the tree branch it was sitting on.

A large groups of Cormorants.

Green Heron

  8. I love seeing birds from other parts of the world. Birds are so 'part of the environment' in any place and often one of the first differences I notice when I arrive. It is like they are familiar companions that once not familiar make it extremely obvious that I'm not in a familiar environment.

    These photos are gorgeous. They have lovely colour balance and the compositions just work really well. Lovely work.

    My favourites are the ducks, the thrush, flickers and the herons. The colours just work really well.

  28. We've seen a few of these birds this week on our hikes....even the wood ducks! But we never see green herons! Something to look for and hope for. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!

  39. A great catch on capturing the Belted Kingfisher with his catch! I hope he enjoyed his feast, he worked hard for it!   47. You always have great bird pictures. This week I had three bird visitors. The first was a male Merganser, followed by two gorgeous Trumpeter Swans. I didn't get any pictures though. They were too far away on a rainy day. But I did capture a Song Sparrow that just arrived using my critter cam. The shots made an interesting "video" of his antics. - Margy

  57. Sometimes animals look as though they have personalities similar to humans. Have you ever seen the BBC videos where people do voice-overs to videos of animals? It's very funny.
