ReplyDeletelol, that´s a weird nest for the Horned owl. But I guess it works :)

The owl is my favourite today, those tufts, and what a place to nest. Guess when the lights are turned on, he/she will get some extra warmth.

ReplyDeleteA thoroughly modern Owl; choosing a 'loft' with an industrial decor.
ReplyDeleteAnd always fascinated by an Armadillo.
Happy Day.
Lovely photos as always, Eileen. That plieated woodpecker is something else!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
Hi Eileen, you see so many interesting creatures. I love your American Bittern photo! Hope you have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteLOL, we had a Pileated Woodpecker visit our yard last weekend while my brother was visiting us and it was like shock and awe for him when he saw him on our tree. "Look, look, look .....at that BIG BIRD." We see them all the time. It was like seeing him as a little child again, full of wonder. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteMagnificas e belas fotografias.

Excellent capture on the birds and armadillo! The whistling ducks remind me Theresa of run a round ranch… we miss her indeed, right? Great nesting by the owl on the lamp post

ReplyDeleteGood morning Eileen. I do love all of those photos but especially the American Bittern and the Armadillo. What a wonderful animal that is, and how useful to have all that armour against predators.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link today. Have a lovely Sunday.
When my kids were toddlers and we'd go for walks, my most pressing desire, was the teach them ... 'All life,' and they would finish, "Is precious."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I would love to see an owl in the wild. We do see hawks here pretty often. Have a wonderful weekend, Eileen!

ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. Armadillo looks cute. We don't have them in Poland.
ReplyDeleteI love those "Woody the Woodpecker" woodpeckers. I admit .... in all my years in Florida I've only seen a few and NEVER managed to have my camera with me when they were there. LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
The woodpecker is gorgeous..as are the Whistling ducks..Have a great weekend..
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot of the Pileated woodpecker!!
ReplyDeleteBut then again all the pictures are excellent.
The woodpecker is so bright and beautiful..
ReplyDeleteGreat images!!!
ReplyDeleteForgot part of what I intended to say...seeing the Whistlers made me homesick for Tex's blogging. When you see them, do you think of her?
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the pileated woodpeckers are always the best! My favorite in this series is the armadillo - Whatta cutie, is that possible?
ReplyDeleteCool sighting of the Great Horned Owl nest upon the utility pole...and the Armadillo is wonderful. I haven't seen one down in FL since about the 70's.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try and catch up a little. Funny...I will get on here these past couple of weeks, be right on something, either typing, shopping, Face-booking and the next thing I know I have been asleep for two hours. I am nearly done with the heavy medications and so I feel better.
Have a wonderful week dear one~
Hoping you are enjoying your time away...I'm sure you are...and will return with more interesting pix! You've got both the skies and ground covered this week!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteAlways a Critter Treat . . .

I love the woodpeckers!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, as always.
Your Woodpecker always amazes me. A handsome fellow he is. Ours looks a bit different here. Wow, I've never seen an armadillo that close-up before. Those whistling ducks are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteNature is surely beautiful in November, isn't it?
~Sheri
You have some beautiful birds here Eileen, lovely photographs.
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite is the Pileated Woodpecker.
Sending my good wishes
All the best Jan
I've never seen an armadillo in real life. Thanks for your close-up shots.
ReplyDeleteEileen - Do the ducks actually whistle? I was surprised to see the owl on a nest so out in the open - is that normal? Thanks for including the armadillo - I don't know why, but I have always thought they are cute ....
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I did not post critters yesterday because I did a Veterans Day post and then fell asleep on the couch!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots. Love that first one!
ReplyDeleteThe armadillo is quite a surprise!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos Eileen! Almost enough to open a zoo!
