Saturday's Critters #224

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

Happy Easter everyone!

These are some of my more recent neighborhood and backyard bird photos.  The Great Blue Herons are nesting in the woods across from my driveway, they can be seen daily and heard making their weird noises. I took some shots also from the nearby fire road of the GB Heron on the nest. We have our very own neighborhood heronry.

  1. Hi Eileen! I always enjoy your posts! I saw a Great Blue Heron in a tree yesterday and thought of you - They really are amazing, aren't they? Finches are changing color, and I wish the warm weather would get here and change the color of everything else!

Stay warm, and Happy, Happy Easter!! Take care!

  2. I'm learning so much about what to look for in MY yard from YOUR posts.

I always get a little thrill when I see a woodpecker. They are much more common here than they were in Jacksonville.

  27. Hi Eileen, hope that you have enjoyed a great week.
It's so neat when one share images of such large birds gracefully doing what they do high up in the trees as you have shown the Great Blue Herons doing.
Love those Mergansers, they are always such a great bird to view and photograph, though I hardly ever get to see them.
    Thank you for everything.

  39. Hi Eileen. Lucky you in having all those herons as neighbours. I think I would find the heronry a place to visit every day during the breeding season so as to watch all the comings and goings and listen to the noise. I spotted all that snow in the background of the goldfinches but I hope your weather has improved a little. Thanks for the join -up today and I hope you and your have a lovely Easter holiday.

  57. A bright and happy selection, Eileen. I adore herons and haven't had luck tracking them down this week although they are supposed to be close by. I guess I'll eventually have to get out of the car, lol.
You are soooo lucky to have them across from your driveway. If I don't see some herons in early May I'm disappointed, but I know where to find them a little further out and I could sit there and watch them all day. It's so cool you're watching them in March.
Have a Happy Easter, my friend!
