Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

I want to wish everyone in the USA a Happy Thanksgiving, I am sure we all have many reasons for giving thanks.

My post and photos are from another visit to the Circle B Bar Reserve. As I mentioned previously Circle B is one of my favorite spots for walking and birding.  We have been going there at least once a week if not more.

York PA rookery

 Hello,

This year we only visited the York PA rookery a couple of times. We did manage a visit on June 11th. The Black Crowned Night Herons and the Great Egrets had some competition with a nearby Great Horned Owl nest. We were told that this year there were not as many nest because of the nearby owl.

The Great Egrets seem to be doing well at this York, Pennsylvania rookery.

Two Great Egrets chicks on the nest.

Two Black Crowned Night Herons at or near their nest.

A Black Crowned Night Heron playing peek-a-boo.

The Great Egrets chicks almost look like adults at this time. You can still see a little fuzz on their heads.

Two Black Crowned Night Heron Chicks, one chick only has it's head showing on the right.

A view of park and lake, the trees around this lake hold the rookery. We also saw lots of Mallard, hybrid ducks and Canada Geese.

For Tom's Barn Collective, I have another local barn/farm in our neighborhood. I hope you enjoyed our visit to the rookery.

Thank you for visiting and for the nice comments. As always, thanks to the wonderful group of hosts listed below.

Here is a list of linky parties for part of the week, Sunday thru Wednesday. I hope to see you there.

York PA Rookery

It's time to link up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences and Random 5 Friday and Friday's Hunt . Join in on the fun and share your post with these fun memes.

Teresa's Friday's Hunt
1. Start's with R
2. Weeks Favorite
3.  Texture

April 10th hubby and I visited the York Pa Great Egret and Black Crowned Night Heron rookery. I thought it maybe a little early to see these birds working on their nest at the rookery, I counted at least 14 egrets and maybe 4 Night Herons.

For Tex's Good Fences meme I have an overall view of the lake and Rookery in York Pennsylvania.

1. Great Egrets were hunted for their plumes nearly to extinction in the early 1900's. Luckily laws were created to protect these birds. The Egret below is one of my favorite photos for my Friday's Hunt.

2. Not bird related, one morning while watching "The View" I heard Donny Osmond say he has been performing for nearly 50 years. Donny's deput was on the Andy Williams Show in 1962. I would have been 6 yrs old, this makes me feel old, LOL. Do you remember the Andy Williams Show and the Donny and Marie Osmond show?

3. A fun fact about the Egret, during their breeding season they have a patch of neon green near show up on their faces near their eyes.

For Teresa's Friday's hunt I think the features on the Egret above is great for the prompt Texture.

4. I just read this fact about the Black Crowned Night Heron seen below. A breeding Night Heron will brood any chick that placed in it's nest.

For Good Fences and for Skywatch Friday I have the pretty sky above and my moon addiction photo below.

5. On April 10th I was able to catch the waxing crescent moon and the star Aldebaran close by. Can you see the tiny star near the moon in my photo? The star is just a tiny dot near the bottom right side of the photo.  BTW, for Teresa's Friday's Hunt this is also my favorite photo for the week.

Tennessee Sunrise

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences and joing for the first time Jesh @ Seasons @ St Germain's Blog  Thanks to Jesh!
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
This is my favorite Irish Blessing
May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come thru your door!

This should be the end of our Tennessee trip and photos, we started off the 2nd full day with a sunrise at the Tennessee River and then we were off to see the waterfalls and more of the Falls Creek Falls State Park.

I am sharing my week's favorite this sunrise shot above.

For Teresa's Fridays hunt..thanks Teresa for hosting.
1. The letter L
2. Week's favorite
3.  Lace

We had a full day planned for our last full day in Tennessee, it started with a sunrise view of the Tennessee River.

My last sighting of Tennessee birds, were the Black Crowned Night Heron, Great Blue Herons, Double Crested Cormorants, a Hawk, White Pelicans and more Sandhill Cranes.

The view at the Buzzard's Roost, Falls Creek Falls State Park.

Same park but, this is a different bridge than the bridge on my last post. For Tex's Good Fences, I have this shot of the suspension bridge at Piney Creek Falls, Falls Creek Falls State Park. We crossed several bridges at this park.

I am attracted to all the dogs I see while I am away, this cute furbaby was near the waterfall. If you look closely in the top right corner I have a bit of fence for Tex's Good Fences.

This was the Piney Creek Falls.

This is the view at Falls Creek Falls, the main attraction at the park called Falls Creek Falls State Park.  I think the water on the waterfalls looks like lace for Theresa's Friday's Hunt.

George's Hole, a pretty spot in the Falls Creek Falls State Park.

My Tennesse moon capture is another photo for Teresa's hunt and my week's favorite photo.

After a full day of birding, hiking, visiting the waterfalls and park we were back at the hotel before dark and saw a beautiful moon.
As always I hope you liked my photos. Thank so much for stopping by and for the nice comments.

A female Mallard giving me the evil eye.

A couple of cute ducklings.

Hybrid Mallards, the ducklings are cute but almost off of the bottom of the photo.

Black Crowned Night Heron on nest.

Black Crowned Night Heron.

At the rookery we saw a lot of the juvenile Black Crowned Night Herons.

The Gray Catbird giving me the eye.

Another juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron.

Both the Great Egret and BC Night Heron seem to be watching something in the shot above? Maybe a fish in the lake?

Can you spy the juvenile Night Heron in the shot above?

This Great Egret chick has some fuzz left. Check out that "fuzzy do".  I hope you enjoyed my birds from the York Pa rookery. They are always a treat for me to see. Thanks for linking up and for visiting and for the nice comments. Have a happy weekend!

Cape May NJ

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

For this week's Good Fence and Skywatch Friday memes I am sharing an overnight visit to Cape May/Atlantic City, New Jersey earlier in July. It was a pretty day to visit Cape May and the beach, I think I even got a little sunburnt.

A mosaic of the Cape May wildlife: Top Row is the Purple Martin house, Halloween Pennant Dragonfly, Carolina Wren. Second Row : Black Crowned Night Heron, Muskrat, Bunny, Third Row: Least Tern, Oystercatcher, Black Skimmers. Bottom Row: Blue Grosbeak, Mute Swan, possibly Forster's Terns.

For my Skywatch shot, the Cape May lighthouse and the Purple Martin birdhouse.

You have to look closely for this fence, just a white string tied to the area closed sign. This is to protect the birds nesting on the beach and dunes.

Another sky shot,  hubby and I sat on our beach chairs watching the waves. A few dolphins swimming by and the planes with their advertisements.

The Least Terns recognizable with the white spot on their foreheads. LOL, do birds even have foreheads? My birds posts are just for fun and I hope the serious birders do not find my post on the birds, their birdie parts and or how I type their names unacceptable. I guess they are skipping the part, that I admit I am blogging just for fun, I am an amateur photographer and I must admit sometimes I might miss a spelling error or put a dash on a bird's name when it does not belong.

Which leads me to bird slang, are you a birder or a birdwatcher? Maybe you are a twitcher or a dude.  Definition of a Dude: a low-keyed birdwatching hobbyist with a lack of devotion or enthusiasm.  A dude, really? Why bother birdwatching if you are not enthused with the birds? I love all the birds and wildlife, my favorite thing to do is go out and look for any species of wildlife. Maybe I am not understanding the definition of a Dude, could I be a dude-woman? I found this link with bird slang check it out Bird slang

A fence scene and a happy couple walking down the trail to the beach. This shot works for both Tex's Good Fences and for my Skywatch Friday shot. I hope you enjoyed our Cape May visit.

I hope you enjoyed my post and photos. Thanks for stopping by and for the nice comments.
