Our Circle B Bar Reserve on 11/19/17, as usual this place never disappoints. We always enjoy our visits, the birds and wildlife.

A male Painted Bunting.

Juvenile Little Blue Heron, Anhinga and a Tricolored Heron.

The same spot a few seconds later, there was the Anhinga, two Glossy Ibis and I believe a juvenile Little Blue Heron or could be an Egret.

A Glossy Ibis

My favorite Black-bellied Whistling Ducks.

The Green Heron another favorite bird.

I am not sure if there are two eagles or an eagle and osprey battling over a fish.

An Armadillo seen on the way out of Circle B Reserve.

Lakeland, Florida

Hello,

My sunrise shots from Nov 9th, 2016. I love the beautiful colors and reflections. These were taken during our walk to our gym at the clubhouse.

"When you stop and look around,  this life is pretty amazing."

"There isn't a day of my life that I do not marvel at the beauty that surrounds me and give thanks."

I am grateful and thankful for all the time I spend with nature.

I am thankful for the trees that give our environment life. They help to clean the air we breathe.

I am thankful for the birds that sing.

Black-bellied Whistling Ducks

Hello,

Joining in today with a couple of my favorite memes Michelle's Nature Notes and Stewart's Wild Bird Wednesday. I hope you enjoy my wild birds, Florida is great for birding in the winter months.

The Black-bellied Whistling Duck is large and goose-like in shape. They have a chestnut breast and black belly. They have high pitch whistles as they travel. I see they every day in our neighborhood, on the lawn of a home on the lakefront. They fly over my house every morning heading to our lake making their cute whistling sounds. These cute ducks are my favorite duck, I always enjoyed seeing Tex posting about these cute birds at her ranch in Texas.

The adults have those bright pink bills and legs.

The Black-bellied Whistling Ducks are also seen below at my favorite reserve the Circle B.

My Youtube video, one morning at our lake watching the sunrise.

I hope you enjoyed my photos and post. Thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

EDIT: I accidentally deleted some of your comments on Jan 12th. If you do not see me visiting your post it is because of my error. Sorry.

Black Bellied Whistling Ducks

I am linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes

For this week's Wild Bird I am sharing the Black-bellied Whistling Duck that I saw in Belize.. These shots were taken from my boat ride and birding outing on the Sittee River near Hopkins, Belize..

I have been enjoying these ducks at Theresa's blog @ Tex's Whistlers-on-wednesday  that I decided to share some of my photos of these adorable ducks...

I think these shots are not too bad considering we were in a boat..These Whistling Ducks are one of my favorite birds. They are just so darn cute..

They are a large duck with a long neck.. a grayish face, bright pink bill and legs. They have a chestnut breast and black belly. And they really do have a whistle call.

Flocks feed on waste grain on agricultural fields or they eat at Theresa's yard in Texas..I hope you enjoyed my ducks and post..

As always I thank you in advance for stopping by my post and for the nice comments.  Sorry, I am not able to send thank you emails for your comments, working full time, life and blogging takes up a lot of time lately.

Florida Whistling Ducks

I am linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes

For this week's wild bird I am featuring one of my favorites..the Black bellied Whistling Duck. We saw my favorite duck nearby the Venice Audubon Rookery while vacationing in Florida.

I am not sure what it is about these ducks but, they are so darn cute. They have the cutest eyes and beak, their legs look pink and the have the black belly. You can't help but to love them, I do.

In this spot across from the rookery I noticed the Black Bellied Whistling ducks, a few White Ibis and there were some Glossy Ibis also nearby. Seeing the Whistling Ducks made my day.

I hope you enjoyed my Black bellied Whistling Ducks.

More Panama Birds

I am linking up with Friday Ark  and Camera Critters

These are more pic's from my birding outing with Justo of Panama's Just Adventures

Arriving a day early for our tour allowed hubby and I to go out for our day of birding. Justo took us to the Discovery Center and the famous Pipeline Road. I got 30 new lifers from our Panama trip.

These are some of the birds and a sloth we saw at the Pipeline Rd and the Rainforest Discovery Center.

Pipeline Rd sloth,  the first of three sloths we saw while in Panama for the week.

Rufous Motmot a beautiful bird and one of my 30 new lifers.

Social Flycatcher....lifer

Crimson Crested Woodpecker, similiar to the Pileated Woodie I see at home. Near this same spot we saw a Black Striped Woodcreeper. I was sorry to see it fly away before I could snap a pic. Both of these birds were also lifers.

Lots of new Hummingbird lifers, like the White Necked Jacobin another lifer.

The Pipeine Road, famous spot for birding in Panama.

A group of Black Bellied Whistling ducks, these are one of my favorite ducks. At this spot we saw the ducks, GB Heron, Wattled Jacana, Ringed Kingfisher, a beautiful Blue Dacnis. I was sorry to see that my photos of these beautiful birds were just a blurry mess. But, it was still exciting to see all of these new birds.

I hope you enjoyed my birds and sloth post. I hope you all have a great weekend and Happy Birding.

I hope you can check out more birds and animals on the Friday Ark  and Camera Critters.  Thanks to the host of Friday Ark and to Misty Dawn of Camera Critters. I look forward to these memes and to seeing all the birds and critters.

Black Bellied Whistling Ducks visit Baltimore

With my most recent lifer the Black-Bellied Whistling ducks I am linking up with World Bird Wednesday and Watery Wednesday and Nature Notes . The Black Bellied Whistling duck is common resident of the Gulf coast states. Their habitat is freshwater marshes, swamps and ponds. They nest in tree cavities near the water. I have seen a lot of ducks like the Harlequin and the Long Tailed and they really are beautiful ducks but there is just something about these Black-Bellied Whistling ducks that is just darn cute.

I am not sure if anyone checks on the website Birding on the net but if you are a birder it is an easy way to see what birds are where. I check my state list called Maryland Osprey daily on my emails. But the website Birdingonthenet has an archive list for just about all the states. It might be worth checking the list for your state. You never know when a new bird might show up and one that is not too far away for you to see. Especially if it is a life bird!

The Black-Bellied Whistling ducks showed up in a Baltimore City park days before was able to see them. I was happy they stuck around till the weekend so I could see them. I think these are just the cutest ducks and as far as I know they do not visit Maryland often. There were a total of five of these cute ducks. These three below and two more hidden in the reeds.

The park lake held mostly Mallards and Canada Geese.  I guess you never know what might turn up in a city park. The lake has a nice walking trail around it and some of the trail was a boardwalk. As we walk around the lake we saw a Black Crowned Night heron standing in a tree.

Black Crowned Night Heron,  the tree was on an island in the middle of the lake.

The lake also had a lot of white waterlilies. Very pretty!

The ducks were still a distance away but my camera was able to zoom up on them some, I was happy with this photo.

I think I got there during their nap time.

To see more wonderful birds and post please visit World Bird Wednesday and Watery Wednesday and Nature Notes.  Thanks to Springman of Pine River Review and 2Sweetnsaxy of Watery Wednesday and Michelle of Nature Notes  for hosting these fun and great memes. Thanks also for stopping by to see my birds and post. I hope the rest of your week is birdie and wonderful.
