Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

I am sharing another visit to the North Point State Park. Various birds and critters seen during a few hours time.

We saw a couple of American Coots.

A frog or toad in the marshland.

A juvenile Bald Eagle almost landed on a tree right above my head. It saw me and took off.

Do you see all three Little Blue Herons?

A pretty Red-winged Blackbird.

A tangled mess of brown water snakes.

Momma snake protecting the baby which was laying on the trail.

On the way back to the car, we saw the Scarlet Tanager and a Canada Warbler.

Just in case there are some Cattle Egrets on the field, I checked out this nearby farm during my visits to the park.

As always thank you for the visit and I on am a little blog break and I turned off the comments. It is just nice to know you have stopped by for a visit.  I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

Snow Day ...March 6

Linking up with NF Winged   and  Skywatch Friday

I have been home sick the last two days, with a bad head cold and taking medicine that just seems to make my head feel even more groggy. This Wednesday morning I woke up to snow coming down hard and a few inches of the white stuff already on the ground. So not only do I have a sick day, it is a snow day.

Between taking naps I have been watching the birds in the snow outside my windows. On a snowy day the bird feeders become very popular. My yard is the best birdie restaurant in the neighborhood.

I have been enjoying all the Cardinals, this tree I can see four males and at least three female Cardinals.

This shot shows my snowy gray skies! Also, Goldie Girl and my neighbors dog had fun playing on our deck. It seems  Marlow, the neighbor's puppy has been escaping from their yard and likes to visit with Goldie.

On this photo, you can see just how popular my birdie restaurant is on snow days. There are Juncos, White-throated Sparrows and Cardinals.

At times the snow was coming down very hard but, the Cardinals do not seem to mind.

The Red-winged Blackbirds have also found my birdie restaurant.

It seems like I have a large flock of various Blackbirds, I am seeing the Brown-headed Cowbirds, Red-winged Blackbirds, Starlings and Common Grackles all  bullying their way to my birdie restaurant. Maybe they should take a number and wait their turn or move on!

This is a closeup of just a few of the Blackbirds around my yard.I am hoping this large flock of Blackbirds leave soon, my poor little birds do not stand a chance. I am not much of a winter or snow lover, I am really looking forward to Spring.

This morning I capture the waning crescent moon setting. I hope you enjoyed my birds and skies.

Thanks to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday! Thanks to the host of NF Winged.  Also, thank you for stopping by to see my post. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend.

Taking the Back Roads

YEA!  Another weekend is here and I am linking up with Camera Critters   and  Sunday Bridges  and Scenic Sunday  .  I hope everyone is safe from the horrible storms that happened overnight and yesterday, my thoughts and prayers go out to the storm victims.

These are some shots of a large flock of Blackbirds seen while driving on the back roads here in Maryland. It was the weekend hubby and I were on the way to see the eagles at Conowingo and to see if any ducks were at HavredeGrace.  And while we are in the area we always enjoy a crab cake dinner at McGregors in Havrede Grace.

I like this photo with the tree, the large flock of blackbirds and the rolls of hay

You can see the Red-winged Blackbirds mixed in with this large group. Maybe some Grackles too?

I saw this hawk in a bush low to the ground, so I was able to snap a few photos right from my car.

Male Mallard duck with a female laying right behind him, seen from the boardwalk at HavredeGrace.

This dude is doing his stretching exercises.

Headless gulls and their wacky reflections.

A few Coots were also seen near the boardwalk.

A scenic view of HavredeGrace's waterfront and boardwalk.

A bridge for my Sunday bridges. This is a bridge going over the Susquehanna river and is used by the Amtrak train that travels from Baltimore-Washington to Philadelphia and New York.

We can watch the Amtrak trains going over the bridge from the restaurant, they do have a lovely view of the river. I hope you enjoyed my post and birds. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a Happy weekend.
