Happy Birthday to me! I hope you will join in with your critters and celebrate my birthday with me. I am sharing more photos from our week at my sister's place. We walked on the beach just about every day. Below are some Sanderlings foraging for food in the surf.

Below are three different bird species, from left to right are the Black-bellied Plover, Willet and a Ruddy Turnstone.

The Ruddy Turnstones can usually be found near the rock jetty.

Not the clearest shot, but I zoomed in on the juvenile Black-bellied Plover. It is a cute bird.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too!

Saturday's Critters #103

Saturday's Critters #103

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. As always I appreciate everyone who is able to link in with this week's critter party.

I am sharing some more birds and critters seen during our trip to Ocean City, Maryland. There were plenty of gull species, terns and we saw some dolphins swimming by while we walked on the beach.

Some dolphins swimming by.

These two were swimming by the Ocean City inlet, they look darker than the dolphins above, I was thinking they may be the Pilot Whales.

In their usual place on the rocks and jetty I found the Ruddy Turnstones and some other shorebirds.

It was cool to watch the Northern Gannets diving into the ocean from our balcony.

While watching the sunset on the bayside, a fisherman caught this small Sand Shark. He released this small shark back into the water.

I believe these are the Forster's Terns

I was attracted to this dog, maybe because of it's cute ears. Adorable!

More Terns and gulls on the beach, just chillin.  I hope you enjoyed my critter post. Thank you for stopping by, thanks for joining in with my critter party. Most of all thank you for all the nice comments.  Have a great weekend!

We were in Nags Head, North Carolina from Nov 29 to Dec 3rd.. So we saw a few sunrises and sunsets and lots of birds..  I hope you enjoy the scenes from our trip!

Sunrise on the beach outside our Nags Head hotel.

Four Tundra Swans flying over the Pea Island NWR.

The lookout at the Bodie Island Lighthouse park..and a pretty blue sky. I thought the fence rails would be a good shot for my Good Fence post.

Here is an American Pipit seen on the grass area outside the Pea Island NWR visitor center.

They mean it, keep off the dunes..another fence scene for Tex's Good Fence.

A Ruddy Turnstone on the beach..Outer Banks, North Carolina...

And here is one more fence scene and a long boardwalk to the beach and over the dunes..

A pretty blue sky and a beautiful day to be at the beach...

A pretty skywatch...sunset at Nags Head..heading back to our hotel..I liked the tree silhouettes and colors in the shot above.

Siesta Key, Florida

Linking up with NF Winged   and  Skywatch Friday

With this post I am taking you back to Florida, a lovely sunset at Siesta Key Beach and some birds from the area.

Above are a Ruddy Turnstone and a Sanderling seen on the Vienna Beach, Florida.

We saw lots of Pelicans flying by at the Vienna Beach.

I like this shot of the pier with the flag and pretty sky.  We also saw a group of dolphins swimming near the pier. They are always a happy sight for me to see.

This pelican was enjoying the Gulf of Mexico beautiful clear water.

Our sunset on the same day was seen at the Siesta Key Beach. A very pretty beach with beautiful sand.

Siesta Key beach is very popular and there were many people out enjoying the beach and sunset.

I really loved the clouds and the reflection in this photo above.

When I looked at the photo above it looks as though there is a hand holding the sun. I see a thumb and fingers? What do you see?

After the sunset and heading back to our car I saw the last bird seen during our visit to Siesta Key. I believe this is a Semipalmated Plover.

I hope you enjoyed my birds and sunset. Thanks for visiting my post and  blog and I always appreciate your comments.

Happy Skywatching  to everyone!

Sanibel Island Skywatch

Linking up with NF Winged   and  Skywatch Friday

On the third day of our Florida vacation hubby and I went south and spent 2 nights in Bonita Springs. Located on the gulf and midway down the coast. We toured Sanibel Island and Ding Darling NWR and Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. All great places for birding and pretty scenery, so I am sharing birds for NF Winged and some sky shots on this post.

This Sanibel Island lighthouse is a different design than what I am use to seeing. But, I do enjoy seeing lighthouses and will take a few photos of each lighthouse that I visit.

The Brown Pelicans were plentiful in Florida. We saw a lot of them on Sanibel Island.

The Snowy Egrets seemed to like hanging around the fishing pier, maybe hoping for a free meal.

Some of the Sanibel shorebirds..the cute Sanderlings and some Ruddy Turnstones.

Juvie Osprey on the nest, testing out the wings.

Now, it's time for the sunset on Sanibel Island.

Love the pretty pink clouds in the shot above.

These sky shots are in order as we watched the sunset. By the time we arrived at the beach the sun had set, the colors and reflection was still pretty. Stay tuned more to come from Corkscrew and Ding Darling NWR.
Thanks for visiting my blog and I always appreciate your comments.

Happy Skywatching  to everyone!

More from Ocean City, Maryland

I am linking up with Camera Critters and I'd-rather-b-birdin

I wish everyone a HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!

I have some more birds and critters from last weekend's visit to Ocean City, Maryland. The inlet is great place to see the seabirds and  this time we got to see a seal.

The Purple Sandpipers are cute birds and like to hang out on the jetty.

There were quite a few Common Loons hanging around the inlet.

The Ruddy Turnstones were also hanging around the rocks on the jetty.

It was fun watching this seal's head pop up out of the water.

I had a tough time trying to focus on the seal while he was floating with the moving tide. He/She does have the cutest face. I hope you enjoyed my Ocean City critters.

Thank you for visiting my post and blog. I also appreciate the comments.

To see more wonderful critters and photos please visit and join in on the fun with Misty Dawn's Camera Critters and to see some lovely birds check out  I'd-rather-b-birdin

What a cool way to see the world! I hope to continue my blog for some time and I hope everyone will still come and check out my post.

Now onto my 500th post and I am linking it up toWatery Wednesday and  Skywatch Friday and NF Winged

These are shots from a few weeks ago when hubby and I went on our overnight trip to Ocean City. These are some of the sunrise shots near our hotel.

The hotel and boardwalk early in the morning. The christmas lights are pretty and I love the cute blow up Santa.

Our first sign of color.

The was a layer of clouds on the horizon that was blocking our view of the sun.

I was watching this fishing vessel being followed by a group of seagulls.

The sun has risen before we were able to finally see it rise up the layer of clouds.

Before leaving Ocean City, I had to check out the inlet one last time. The birds seen there were the Sanderlings and a few Ruddy Turnstones.

Above a Ruddy Turnstone was trying to walk on the steep side of this rock at the jetty.

As you can see above, it was another great day and skywatch at Ocean City. I was just sad to leave.
