Aug 14th, thank you for all the well wishes for my hubby. He is doing well and he was told his blood work was good. His diet seems to be a daily battle.
1. June 24, One of my favorite local trails goes thru a pine tree forest. While walking with Miney I had the Merlin App recording the birds I heard singing. The Pine Warbler is a regular in my neighborhood and on this trail.
On one of my walks with Miney, we were just on the local fire road not far from home, she stopped and refused to go further, she was watching one section off the trail I thought she was scared of whatever was there. I was thinking it was a black bear roaming around our local forest, I have seen them here before.
2. June 25th, my walk with Miney is another local fire road trail. I am not sure what these wildflowers are called.
3. June 27th, I watch the Ruby-throated Hummingbird perched near his feeder.
4. June 28th, since we have had so much it seem I am seeing lots of mushroom growing along side the fire road.
5. June 29th, We walked our local fire road once again. This time I did more of a loop and came to a downed tree we had to cross over. She makes jumping over these trees look easy.
6. June 30th, my birdwatching dog Miney was watching some birds up in the tree next to the trail.
7. Lately on my walks, I have been hearing the Yellow-throated Vireo. I have seen them before in the summer time and my Merlin App has been picking their sounds on my local fire road walks. This Vireo is colorful, has a yellow eye-ring and thick bill, has the yellow throat and it's belly is white.
8. August 2015, flashback photos and a visit to the North Point State Park in Baltimore County. One this day we saw lots of Great Egret, Little Blue Herons and a Tricolored Heron. Below starting on the left are two Little Blue Herons, in the middle is a Tricolored Heron and on the right a Great Egret and another Little Blue Heron.
The transitional mottled Little Blue Heron.
Below is the adult Little Blue Heron

1. June 18th, here we are again on a walk with Miney to the lake. Miney and I enjoy our walks, listening to the birds and trying to find some for my photos. Below I watched an Osprey take a fish from the lake and fly to a nearby tree. The Canada Geese are a common bird seen at the lake. I also saw a mama deer and fawn across the lake from us.
2. June 19, my walk with Miney on our local fire road. She walks with her nose to the ground, she can quickly grab things off the ground and eat them. I have to lookout for the mushrooms so she doesn't grab them really fast.
3. June 20th, our walk with Miney was on the NCR trail in Parkton Md. We walked past a Black Vulture perched on top of a huge boulder on the side of the trail. It spooked Miney. The Lilies are blooming looking very pretty at this time.
4. June21st, my walk with Miney was along the road some and onto the nearby fire road. Coming back home we saw a deer eating weeds along our driveway and yard.
5. June22nd, another morning walk with Miney. We have to get early in the morning before it gets too hot. My walk with Miney was on the close by fire road, we sat on a log for a rest and listened to the birds and had a little view of the reservoir.
6. June 22nd, one of the birds I heard often on my walk was the Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher.
7. June 23rd, another neighborhood walk with Miney on the Prettyboy fire road. The Worm-eating Warbler is heard on all my walks lately. It shows up on the Merlin app as my Bird of the Day.
8. Flashback to May 2017, we were on a Washington State trip. These photos were taken in or around the Nisqually entrance to Mt Rainier National Park. The Elk were seen right off the road that leads to the park entrance.
May 2017, The Stellar Jay was a common bird we saw while visiting Washington State.
May 2017, The Varied Thrush was seen in multiple spot in Washington State.

Happy August, wishing everyone a great month!
Here I am chugging along, sharing photos from June. The photos are from my yard, our walks with Miney on the Prettyboy fire roads. Hubby's treatment is going well, it is something he will have to do for the rest of his life or try for the kidney transplant list which can take up to 5 years.

1. June 7th, Miney on the fire road. I hear the Ovenbirds during all my walks, they have a really loud sound.
I noticed on my walks, I hear the same birds in almost the same spot as previous walks. The Worm-eating Warbler is one that seems to stay in an area off of the fire road that is steep hill.
2. We bought some annuals for our deck, below are Honeybells a new plant for me, the Lantana and two different colors of Zinnias. I was happy to see a hummingbird at the Lantana.
"Let the birds of peace, fly around."
3. June 8th, a walk to the lake, we saw lots of Canada Geese and a couple of Double-crested Cormorants.
We have a Spirea bush in our yard, over the years it has grown really big. This year it had lots of pretty blooms.
4. June 10th, Miney decided she wanted to walk through the ferns off to the side of the fire road.
5. June 14th, a couple of the birds heard on my walk were the Hooded Warbler top left and the Pine Warbler top right.
At this time in mid June I was hearing the Cedar Waxwings while I was out on fire road.
6. June 15th, another walk on the local fire road with Miney, at home there was a deer on the neighbors driveway.
7. June 17th, a walk with Miney we saw a lot of Indian Pipe also known as Ghost Pipe. It is not a mushroom but a unique flowering plant. It does get it's nutrients from fungi and thrives in shady wooded areas.
8. My flashback images are from August 2022, a common bird seen year round, in and around my yard is the Tufted Titmouse.
This Tufted Titmouse could be sunning themselves or anting. Both are consider maintenance for their feathers.
