Black Necked Stilt reflection

Merry Christmas,  Happy Holidays and a wonderful Happy New Years to everyone!

I visit the Bombay Hook wildlife refuge often and during the summer the Black Necked Stilt can be seen there. They are cool looking birds, their legs seem to be able to bend all kinds of ways.

They like to search for food in the mud flats or can be seen walking in water that is more like puddles.
On this one day I was able to catch the reflection of the Black Necked Stilt.

What wonderful photographs of the Black Necked Stilt! The next to the last photograph is my favorite. I see that this is a reflection meme; you did well capturing the bird's reflections.

We have a nature sanctuary near where I live. I visited it a few times this past year and intend to frequent it more often next year. It's a great place to capture bird photographs and a great place to walk.

Merry Christmas :-)

I think I see mudskipper in your picture, and it is being chased after by the Black Necked Stilt.

Great shots! I had to enlarge the last one, the bent weeds and their reflections made arrows pointing the way!

This certainly indicates that animals have evolved to meet the needs of their habitat.

Balance - probably the most difficult, yet most successful movement.

May you all have a wonderful Christmas time, filled with much harmony and balance.

Brilliant, Eileen. The second to last image is stunning although they're excellent (I'm running out of adjectives here!) We only have one "stilt" in South Africa: the Black winged stilt. It has a black beak, red eyes and red legs. Other wise it looks a lot like your stilt (LOL!) Blessings and love at this time for you and your loved ones. Thanks for visiting my blog. (((Hugs))) Jo

Awesome photos! I noticed the reflection in the first one, then was aware to look for it in the others. It's fun when your photos work for more than one of the memes you participate in.

Merry Christmas!

Wonderful bird!! And you are so right about the bird in my blog, it is an Golden Growned Kinglets..we call it Fuglekonge direktly translated: bird-king. I'm so happy to get help in translation of breeds, because my English is quite domestic...so I try to find the Latin names...hoping people understand. Thank you and have a good time the temaining days of this holiday:)) Greetings from Norway

Awesome photos. We live near some tidal mudflats in New Zealand. We have stilts that look a bit like these, but they're much smaller and they're very shy. These ones look as if they enjoyed having their photos taken. :)
