My post is more on our visit to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. We were there during a great time to see the Egrets, Herons and Shorebirds on the move. It's migration time, sad to see these beauties leaving us for now.

Pretty view of a couple of Bobolinks.

Deer and it's reflection

A Blue Grosbeak, sorry about the tree branch in the way.

Just a guess below is a female Common Yellowthroat

Five juvenile Night Herons.

Peregrine Falcon

Cedar Waxwing, I hope that is berry juice on it's chest.

Green Heron in the hunt position. There is a shadow of the tree above right in the heron's head.

Another Peregrine Falcon

Some more photos from Bombay Hook NWR, the Great Blue Heron was chasing away another heron while he was trying to eat his fish.

Belted Kingfisher, I think this is the male. The female has a rust colored breast band.

The Snowy Egret tree, they look like decorations.

I cropped the photo above so I could make sure these were the Snowy Egrets, so I could see their yellow feet.

This tree has the Kingfisher on the left and the Egrets on the right.

Two Night Herons, I am not sure if they are the Yellow-crowned or the Black Crowned?

A cool shot of the Great Blue Heron.

The Eagle nest with a Bald Eagle sitting below and off the the right.

Bombay Hook NWR, Delaware

Hello & Happy Monday!

Happy Labor Day!

Can you believe it is September already? The days and weeks are flying by. I am sharing some recent photos of an overnight trip to Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. We spent the night in nearby Dover Delaware. The shorebirds are on the move, we saw lots of Herons, Egrets,  flowers and the Slider Turtles.

On the way, I found a sunflower field next to the road.

A green heron playing peek a boo.

Egrets were plentiful around the wildlife drive.

Egrets and various shorebirds.

A juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron

Some cardinal flowers growing at the edge of the marsh land.

Some slider turtles, one has a different view.

Pretty unknown wildflowers.

Thanks for your visit today!  I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

Thanks to the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!
I hope to see you there. Thanks to the host today. Enjoy your day and new week.

As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

Saturday's Critters #206

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Some of my Sunset Beach, North Carolina birds and a gator near the golf course. They are not the best photos, on this day we had some clouds and the birds were all a good distance away.  :(

White Ibis and a Great Blue Heron

White Ibis on the golf course.

An alligator in the golf course pond. For those who did not know, yes there are alligators in North Carolina. We saw a few at this spot near a golf course.

I think this is the same gator as above, on this day he was enjoying the sunshine.

A Great Blue Heron and Great Heron, some crows in the background. They were all hanging out at a golf course.

An Osprey was seen in this same tree on a few different days.

For the birders out there, there are a few Black Crowned Night Herons in the photo below, can you find them?  How many do you see, I must admit a few are hidden in the leaves. Click on the photo for larger viewing. My version of where's Waldo?

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too!

A Variety Show

I am linking up Camera Critters and I'd-Rather-B-Birdin.

I am sharing more birds from my trip, I have not been anywhere since my trip except to work. And I have been waiting to see some spring birds show up in my yard. This is a short report of my yard sightings this week. I am seeing  a lot of Chipping Sparrows suddenly, I had a male Ruby Throated Hummer zoom by my head. The Juncos seem to have disappeared but I am still seeing a few White-Throated Sparrows, Pine Siskins, Red-Breasted Nuthatch. I also see a few Purple Finches and some House Sparrows And my cute Pine Warbler is back. As soon as I get some decent shots, I will do a yardbird post.

So for my post this week these shots are from our quick stop at the Shark Valley, Everglades Nat'l Park.

There must have been a big fallout of the Palm Warblers in Florida while we were there. We saw Palm Warblers everywhere. LOL, this one fell out of the sky right on the trail in front of us. You see he is looking up waiting for more of his warbler buddies to fall out of the sky.

One of my favorites the Green Heron

Another one of my favorite herons a Little Blue Heron.

Above is a juvenile Night Heron, I believe it is a Black Crowned Night Heron. The juvenile Yellow Crowned looks similar except for bill color.

Shark Valley had plenty of rookeries. You can see two Night herons tucked inside this tree. One is just about hidden except for the white belly and spots here and there.

Two Anhingas and a fish jumping out the water. The jumping fish seem to be happening a lot while we were there, maybe they were escaping from an alligator.

One of the pretties..A Roseate Spoonbill.

I hope you enjoyed my birds and  post. I hope everyone has a happy weekend. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments.
