Around the yard

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

Just an FYI: A friend on Facebook said she rec'd an email from me using using a yahoo email address and was asking to open a link. First I did not send any emails out the last couple of days and I do not use YAHOO for email. So if anyone should see my name on an email please do not open any links. LINKS are bad to open no matter what, so be careful.

For my post this week, I have some shots of Spring time around my yard and of course I have some of my spring birds. So, I will take you for a walk around my yard.

The Goldfinch looks pretty sitting in the weeping cherry tree.

The dogwood tree is one of my favorites, I love the dogwood blossoms.

I've been seeing a lot more bluejays around the yard.

The bleeding heart plant is one of my favorite spring blooms.

The Chipping Sparrows seemed to have arrived in big numbers, I am seeing a lot of these cuties around the yard. I am looking forward to seeing some of the spring migrating birds around the yard. I hope you enjoyed the walk around the yard.

Thanks for visiting my blog and post. I really appreciate your comment too.

I love Spring

I am linking up with Mosaic Monday  and Our World Tuesday

I am showing off some of the pretty flowers and blossoms around my yard in the mosaic. Above is a  pretty weeping cherry tree,  a cute Mourning Dove, creeping phlox, forsythia, three Great Blue herons flying over my neighbors yard,  cute birdhouse hanging on the pergola, some daffodils.

I do love Spring, it is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the colors, the flowers and all the cute and colorful spring birds.

Also, this will be the third year the Great Blue Herons have returned to nest in the trees across from my neighbors house. The trees actually belong to the city of Baltimore and are part of the watershed protecting the reservoir. I am happy because I can stand on my deck and watch the Herons fly over with sticks to add to their nest and later on they will bring back food to the baby herons. I took the photo of the herons while standing on my driveway, so they are not far from my yard. The sounds coming from the nest are very strange too, the herons sometimes make noises like they are barking dogs.

The Forsythia is looking so bright and cheery.

Daffodils are one of my favorite springtime plants.

The weeping cherry tree is looking beautiful with all the pretty in pink blossoms.

And I had to show off one of my beautiful male Cardinals. There are lots of pretty colors happening in our yard right now.

Weeping Cherry tree

Years ago we planted this Weeping Cherry tree across from our deck. The birds seem to love sitting in this tree. The top branches are bare, I am not sure if it is due to the birds landing and sitting on these same branches over the years. It is one of my favorite blooming trees in the spring and it seems like the birds love as much as I do. But,  is a popular tree with the birds during all the seasons. It is very popular with the hummingbird as he guards HIS feeders. He found a nice branch where he can sit and see all the hummingbirds feeder on my deck.

I especially love this tree because I can sit outside on my deck and take photos of my yardbirds as they land on the tree. I can also watch this tree and the birds from my dining room and kitchen windows and from my computer.

Birds in this mosaic are male downy woodpecker, carolina chickadee, house finch, male bluebird, female cardinal, cedar waxwing and on the last row are the goldfinch, purple finches, female bluebird and a bluejay.

A blue bird for Blue Monday, they make me smile so I can not really say I am blue. The bluebird is my all time favorite yardbird.

Under the tree we have some Purple Coneflowers growing which are very popular with the groundhog family living in the yard. We had to enclose the area around the tree to keep the groundhogs from eating all the plants.

The birds in this mosaic below are the male cardinal, pine warbler, eastern phoebe, female cardinal, house finch with bluebirds, male ruby throated hummingbird, rose breasted grosbeaks and a bunch of Pine Siskins.

The bluebirds look cute sitting in the weeping cherry tree with the male house finch. That red head on the finch looks perfect for a Ruby Tuesday.
