Our World, My World

Happy Monday,

Our world and my world has not been normal for over a year now. It would be nice to have everything feel normal again.  This week, I am looking forward to having President Biden in office. I am hoping and praying for peaceful times in our country. We may not agree on politics, but we can be respectful and kind to everyone. My post this week is on some of my favorite national parks, since we have not traveled due to COVID these images are from my archives.

One of my favorite parks is Yellowstone, the scenery and wildlife is just amazing.  The scenic drives in these parks, both Yellowstone and the Tetons in Wyoming are beautiful.

Grand Prismatic, largest hot spring in Yellowstone. It is the third largest hot spring in the world.

Various birds seen in the Yellowstone and Tetons National Parks.

Unidentified Hummingbird, Cinnamon Teal, Magpie,
Trumpeter Swan, Cedar Waxwing, Dusky Grouse,
female Mountain Bluebird, Osprey, White Pelican.

Yellowstone's Canyon...  "The best thing about memories is making them."

Glacier National Park in Montana, I am guessing the top left is the Swiftcurrent Lake, we stayed nearby, the Running Eagle Falls or also nicknamed Trick Falls. Lower left the Beargrass looked pretty and bottom right is near Logan Pass Visitor Center.

Going to the Sun, a very scenic drive in Glacier National Park.   This park road was a hair-raising drive for me.  We saw some Mountain Goats crossing this road, definitely keep your eyes on the road while driving.

A view of Glacier National Park in Montana.

Scenic view of  the Grand Canyon National Park.

"A good life is a collection of happy memories."

Grand Canyon and Colorado River

Arches National Park, the various rock formations all had names, if only I could remember them all.  The top left could be the Balance Rock.  I do remember the bottom left are the Three Sisters and the bottom right is the Landscape Arch.

Arches NP, Landscape Arch is the longest stone span. It stretches 306 feet and is only 11 feet thick at it's center.

"Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints."

"Never let your memories be greater than your dreams."

We are looking forward to the days when we feel safe to travel and take some road trips. My dream is to visit all of our National Parks.  Our world is beautiful and our country has some of the greatest National Parks to visit.  These are just of few of the National Parks that hubby and I have visited. Some parks we visited twice, my favorites are Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon, Bryce and  Zion.

Hubby and I continue to be happy and healthy, I hope everyone is doing well too.

Wear your mask and keep your distance!

Happy Thankful Thursday!

  Happy Thursday!

This is a Throwback Thursday post, diving into my archives. I hope you enjoy, I miss traveling during these no-traveling times. This is one of my favorite national parks.  Hubby, my son and I have been to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons National Park in 2005 and 2008.  I would go back again if I could, but it is nice to do a post of our past memories and trips.

I am thankful for all the trips, hubby, son and I have taken over the years.  I am thankful for all my archived photos I can look back on our happy trip memories.  I am thankful for our beautiful national parks.

The canyon seen from the Upper/Lower Yellowstone Falls

Me and my hubby at the Continental Divide

A view of the Grand Teton mountain range. Another pretty day and beautiful blue sky.

The Grand Prismatic Spring at Yellowstone NP. It was a pretty sky day, I love the clouds and steam from the hot spring.

A moose seen from the Heron Pond and Swan Lake loop trail in the Grand Teton NP. This moose was wearing a tracking collar.

Yellowstone bison and a couple of Pronghorn.

I am thankful that I saw so much wildlife during our visit to the park.  A moose seen off the road in Yellowstone.

Mama Elk with young at  Mammoth Hot Spring, Yellowstone NP.

Oxbow Bend, near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This was a popular spot for photographers...

A Grizzly Bear seen off the road in the Grand Teton NP.

We took a float trip on the Snake River, Jackson Wyoming.  While floating down the river, I was able to see a few Bald Eagles and a large group of White Pelicans.

Deep in thought, hubby taking a break on the hot springs boardwalk. We stayed in various park cabins at Old Faithful, Mammoth, Colter Bay, it was great staying inside the park. It was nice that we could just walk to Old Faithful or to the Mammoth Hot Springs and to the lake.

Howdy Stranger, we spent a few nights in Jackson Hole Wyoming.

Even back in 2005 and 2008 I was bird watching, these were some of the birds we saw in Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

Unidentified Hummingbird, Cinnamon Teal, Magpie,
Trumpeter Swan, Cedar Waxwing, Dusky Grouse,
female Mountain Bluebird, Osprey, White Pelican.

We are looking forward to the days we can travel again, to plan a trip when we are feeling safe.

I hope everyone is happy and healthy! 😊  Please wear your masks and keep social distancing.. I am always thankful hubby and I are both doing well!

White Pelican for Camera Critters

You can click on picture for a larger image, Scenic Sunday pic's follow my critters.

During my trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone National parks I was able to do a lot of birding. I saw the White Pelican in various spots in both parks. I saw a large group of the White Pelicans on the Snake river while doing a float rafting trip. The White Pelican seemed to be very common in both parks.

This White Pelican was seen in the Tetons at Owbow Bend. To see more Camera critters from all around please click on my critter link.

This Osprey was seen near the Old Faithful Boardwalk loop.

The Mountain Bluebird was seen in many places in the parks.

The Raven is another bird common to the parks.

Finally a lifer for me was this Grouse seen in the Tetons on the road to Signal Mountain.

I hope everyone enjoys my Yellowstone and Tetons birds for the camera critter meme. Also thanks to the host Misty Dawn of Camera Critters for making this all happen. I really enjoy seeing everyone's critters.

Scenic Sunday # 62

Scenic Sunday the Grand Prasmatic spring at Yellowstone, photos are clickable

This is one of my favorite scenes from Yellowstone National Park. It is called the Grand Prasmatic spring. I love how the wind is blowing the steam to the side. The colors of the Grand Prasmatic are just out of this world. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. There are so many wonderful scenes from Yellowstone I have a hard time choosing which is more scenic.

For more wonderful scenic Sundays photos please click on my link.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my Grand Prasmatic spring photo. I really enjoy everyone's photos from all around the world, this is such a great idea!

Eileen's view of the national parks scene for Scenic Sunday

I thought it is cool how you can create a collage with Picasa. So here are some of my pic's of the national parks I have visited. The parks have so much scenery and so much to enjoy. Each picture in the collage has something that represents my view of the national park. The collage is clickable for a bigger view.

Full size pic's can be seen at my flicker slideshow link:

This is a list of the parks that I have visited Acadia Nat’l park, Alaska Glacier Bay, Arches Nat’l Park, Assateague Nat’l Seashore, Bryce Nat’l Park, Canyonland Nat’l Park, Chincoteague Nat’l Seashore, Glacier Nat’l Park, Grand Canyon Nat’l Park,
Great Falls Nat’l Park, Hawaii Volcano, Lassen, Mt Ranier, Olympic, Redwoods, Sequoia, Shenandoah, Tetons, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion. Each one of these parks are seen in my picture collage.

I would like to make a goal to see every national park in the USA. I think each park has something special to see. So far my favorites have been Yellowstone and the Tetons national parks and mainly for all the wildlife.

Hey, let me know if you recognize any of the parks from my pictures. I know they are a little small but I have the regular size photo too.

This is Owbow Bend in the Tetons National Park. Best bird sighting at the Tetons and Owbow were a Grouse and a female Western Tanager.

Please click on my Scenic Sunday link to see more wonderful photos from all over. Thanks for checking out my blog and pictures. And a big thanks to all the guys and girls who put these memes together. I really love checking out the Scenic Sunday link and the blogs from all over the world. It is a wonderful way to see a little part of everyone's world. Thanks for sharing
