Saturday's Critters #139

Saturday's Critters #139

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

I had fun one day watching the hummers at the trumpet vine flowers. Sometimes the hummer would disappear inside one of the blooms. The Tiger Swallowtails were enjoying the butterfly bushes.

The hummer disappeared inside the trumpet bloom below.

Below are the male and female Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies.

As always thanks for the visits and the nice comments. I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

Sunflower Sky

Hello,

During the last weekend of July we dog sat our grand-doggie Nibbles while my son went to visit my sister in North Carolina. I think my sister will have to start taking reservations for her new place near the beach. These are some shots from our backyard and some of Nibbles, the trumpet vine blooms and a sunflower sky shot.

Our trumpet vine or what I call the monster cousin-it bloomed like crazy this year.  The hummers love these blooms.

I like my sunflower sky. The one and only sunflower we had growing in our yard this summer.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and my post. I appreciate your nice comments. Enjoy your day and the weekend ahead!

Here is a list of linky parties for part of the week, I hope to see you there. I have a few fence and my deck railing for Tex's Party and some pretty sky shots.

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences.
Thank you to Sylvia, Yogi and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday.

Early Morning birds

I am linking up with Simple Things Sunday and  Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

Happy Superbowl Sunday!!   GO RAVENS!!!!!!!

I love the view from our mailbox. I wanted to check out the condition of our street after yesterdays snowfall. Some day I am afraid the foresters will be cutting down these lovely pine trees along my street. :(

It will change my view for ever. But, for now I am enjoying the view.

Above is a mosaic of what I call our monster, the trumpet vine on our deck. We left it for the birds to hide in or perch. This morning they patiently waited for me to clean the snow off the feeders and fill them up.

More birds patiently waiting the Juncos and a White-Throateed Sparrow

It seems to be a happy place for the birds above are the Juncos and a Morning Dove.

Early this morning, I swept the snow off an area where I walk to fill up the feeders. I placed peanuts along the deck railing for the birds or I should say squirrels.

My cardinal couple waiting for their breakfast. I think they are telling me to hurry up.

What makes you happy? I am happy to keep my birds safe and happy. The birds are enjoying the food on these cold winter days. I hope you enjoyed my post. Thanks for stopping by and I always appreciate your comments.

Backyard blooms and birds

I am linking up my post with Mosaic Monday  and  That's My World.  These are some of the flowers blooming in my yard right now and a couple of my yardbirds...the Mourning Dove and the Ruby Throated Hummingbird. Most of our flowers were planted with the hopes of attracting more wildlife like the  birds and butterflies to our yard.

Below,  butterfly bushes, crepe myrtle, trumpet vine and a Ruby Throated Hummingbird.

The Mourning Dove is another year round bird and a regular visitor to my yard. They spook easily and sometimes it is hard to get a good photo of them.

Below, Purple coneflowers and Maryland's state flower the Black Eyed Susan and my sweet looking Mourning Dove.

Black  Eyed Susan's, Maryland State flower.

Over the years hubby has planted many flowers, he has the green thumb and I just help to choose plants and bushes with the wildlife in mind. The butterfly bushes attract the butterflies and the trumpet vine is a favorite of the hummingbirds.

I just love to see the hummingbirds in my yard, this male like to take control of all my feeders and the flowers.

To see more wonderful mosaics and photos please visit Mary's Mosaic Monday and That's My World.. Thanks to Mary for hosting Mosaic Monday and to the gang at That's My World: Sylvia, Wren, Sandy and Klaus.  Also, thanks for stopping by my post and blog. I hope everyone has a wonderful week and try to stay cool during these HOT days.

Happy Monday!

W ishing everyone a great day and a happy new week! "One of the great things about National Parks is they belong to everyone." Oba...
