Saturday's Critters # 488

 Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Hello and happy Saturday!   Happy Earth Day!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. These images are from our last morning in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I have mish mash of birds photos and an iguana seen at our resort.  I love to travel and see new places, but the last travel day is not fun. The airports can be crowded and we spent 5 hours in the Houston Hobby airport going through the US immigrations and customs and then waiting for our last flight home.

1.  Sightings from our last morning at the resort in Mexico, top row are the  Whimbrel and Sandpiper. Second Row are two different Orioles, the last row are the Frigatebirds, Oriole and Rock Pigeons.

Click on images for better viewing!

2. These two Orioles were seen from our balcony , the photos shows more of their backs, could the be the Streaked-back Orioles?

This Oriole was hanging out in the same trees as the two Orioles above. This bird is missing the white bars on the wings, possibly a young Oriole or female?

3. This looks like the Orchard Oriole, the dark head and rust colored body.

4. The Whimbrel was hanging out on the beach every day, close to the Sandpiper I am showing below.

5.  The next two photos are the same bird, we saw it on the beach every morning. I was tossed between a Willet or a Sandpiper.

6. Hubby and I on most mornings would sit on the beach at our resort and watch the birds, whales and dolphins. Sometimes they put on a great show.

7. Dolphins playing around in the bay right in front of our resort.

8. The whales were splishing and splashing, the dolphins were closer to the people kayaking.

9.  Humpback Whale flapping it's long fin.

10. We did not see many Iguanas during our stay in Mexico, this was one of two that we saw at the resort.

11.  An extra from our birding tour on March 7th, I missed sharing a couple of Warblers we saw the Nashville Warbler on the left and a lifer the Lucy's Warbler and the right.  The Nashville Warbler I have seen in the fall in my yard eating berries.

Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Happy Thursday!

I  know many people are feeling the Covid stress. Hubby and I get that antsy feeling, we had to get away.  Take advantage of the great weather.  I am continuing to share some photos from our getaway to Maryland Shore and Ocean City Maryland.  I have to say we were in the car most of the time, a few hikes and walks on the beaches.  So I have a few sky photos to share and some bird sightings.

1. the first evening and Sunset at the Ocean City Inlet.  I am thankful for 2 days of beautiful weather for our getaway.

2. Everyone was out enjoying this great November weather, we watched the surfers and there were also some Black Ducks or Cormorants nearby.

3.  A scene from the Ocean City Inlet, an early morning fishing boat heading out, a Brown Pelican flying by and some color just before the sunrise.

4.  I never noticed all these locks on the fishing pier at Ocean City. I am guessing the gull is the Ring-billed Gull.

5.  The sunrise next to the fishing pier in Ocean City Maryland.

6. Banded Terns on the Ocean City Inlet beach. These are the Royal Terns, thanks to Sondra for the id.

7.  Two Brown Pelicans flying by us at the Ocean City Inlet.

8. We watched 6 dolphins in the inlet at Ocean City, Md. They would take turns moving in and out of the water.  I am thankful for all my wildlife sightings.

9. A mural on a utility box and a Red Fox crossed the street near us at the Ocean City Inlet.

I am thankful for another great getaway. I am thankful we continue to stay safe and healthy.

I hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

Go outside and breathe deeply.  Enjoy every moment.

Take care and stay safe!

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Keep smiling!

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Hello and happy Thursday!

These are images from our 2nd visit to the Blowing Rocks Preserve. We went to this preserve (hubby's favorite) 3 times and each visit was great. On this visit I watched multiple groups of Brown Pelicans flying by and in the ocean I saw some dolphins swimming by. It was a beautiful day and a lovely skywatching day too.

This visit hubby tried to make sure the tide and winds were just right for the crashing waves on the rocky shoreline.

Thankful and grateful, for today and every day!

I Love watching the Brown Pelicans. 💗💗💗

I tried my hardest to get some decent photos of the dolphins swimming by, this photo below is the closest I could get of one of the dolphins coming out of the water. 🌝

These are some cute Sanderlings.  I think the lighter colors mean these are juveniles?

I am thankful for the simple things and pleasures.

Enjoy every moment!

I am Thankful, Grateful and Blessed!
