2. Also at the Indian River Inlet were some Red-breasted Mergansers with the pretty Long-tailed Ducks.

3. A wind blown Great Blue Heron near the campground at Indian River Inlet.

4. On the Delaware beach we saw a big flock of Sanderlings.

5. At the Indian River Inlet we can always see the Long-tailed Ducks, this flock was flying back and forth at the inlet.

6.  Loon with a crab, seen at the Indian River Inlet.

7. We stopped at the Ocean City Inlet to look for more sea ducks, we saw the Surf Scoter, more Long-tailed Ducks, Sanderlings, Ruddy Turnstones and some Purple Sandpipers.

8. We saw a Surf Scoter at the Ocean City Inlet. The male has a colorful with a black, white, red and orange bill.

Saturday's Critters # 534

Feb 8th-10th, hubby and I were on a getaway to Maryland's Eastern shore, we stopped at Blackwater NWR in Cambridge Md and then onto Ocean City, Md for 2 nights. The first images are from Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and the last ones are from the Ocean City Inlet.

1. At Blackwater, we enjoyed seeing lots of Tundra Swans, Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Northern Pintail and a GB Heron.

At Blackwater NWR, it is a treat to see the Snow geese, this huge group of Snow Geese was out on the Blackwater River.

While we sat in our car and watched the Snow Geese, they all flew up, circled around and came back down and landed on the river. They are extremely loud, an Eagle or Hawk must have upset them.

A landscape image of Blackwater, lots of Tundra Swans, Canada Geese and a variety of ducks.

We did some birdwatching and wave watching at the Ocean City Inlet.  Birds seen below are top row are the Surf Scoter and a Ruddy Turnstone with Sanderlings. Bottom row are male and female Bufflehead with a Red-breasted Merganser.

We had dinner at the Ropewalk restaurant in Ocean City, located on the bay side. A perfect spot to watch the sunset while having dinner. They had some beautiful murals on the walls outside the restaurant.

The murals are pretty scenes, Maryland fishermen with gulls and another mural of the sea creatures and birds in flight.

I loved this mural with the birds and fish below.

From inside the restaurant we watch the pretty sunset on Ocean City's bay.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post. I am also joining Sami with Monday Murals

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Happy Thursday!

I  know many people are feeling the Covid stress. Hubby and I get that antsy feeling, we had to get away.  Take advantage of the great weather.  I am continuing to share some photos from our getaway to Maryland Shore and Ocean City Maryland.  I have to say we were in the car most of the time, a few hikes and walks on the beaches.  So I have a few sky photos to share and some bird sightings.

1. the first evening and Sunset at the Ocean City Inlet.  I am thankful for 2 days of beautiful weather for our getaway.

2. Everyone was out enjoying this great November weather, we watched the surfers and there were also some Black Ducks or Cormorants nearby.

3.  A scene from the Ocean City Inlet, an early morning fishing boat heading out, a Brown Pelican flying by and some color just before the sunrise.

4.  I never noticed all these locks on the fishing pier at Ocean City. I am guessing the gull is the Ring-billed Gull.

5.  The sunrise next to the fishing pier in Ocean City Maryland.

6. Banded Terns on the Ocean City Inlet beach. These are the Royal Terns, thanks to Sondra for the id.

7.  Two Brown Pelicans flying by us at the Ocean City Inlet.

8. We watched 6 dolphins in the inlet at Ocean City, Md. They would take turns moving in and out of the water.  I am thankful for all my wildlife sightings.

9. A mural on a utility box and a Red Fox crossed the street near us at the Ocean City Inlet.

I am thankful for another great getaway. I am thankful we continue to stay safe and healthy.

I hope everyone stays healthy and safe.

Go outside and breathe deeply.  Enjoy every moment.

Take care and stay safe!

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Keep smiling!

Assateague Island Nat'l Seashore

Happy Monday, wishing everyone a great week ahead!

These are some more images from our visit to the Assateague Island National Seashore. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk trails, seeing the horses, birds, ducks and geese. We watched some surfers, surprising they can handle being in the cold ocean water. We saw a beautiful sunset that evening at the Ocean City Inlet.

The boardwalk trail at Assateague, has some great views of the marsh and wetlands.

A look at some the trails at Assateague, the marsh trail and boardwalk.

The Beach at Assateague Island National Seashore.

We practically had the beach to ourselves. There were a few surfers around. Not many birds on the beach, a few gulls here and there.

Looking back at the bay, bridge to Assateague Island and a large flock of Canada Geese.

The Canada Geese in the Chincoteague Bay.

Ocean City sunset at the inlet.

Beautiful sunset on 2/5/19 @ Ocean City Inlet.

Happy Thankful Thursday

Happy Thankful Thursday!

I have been worrying about loosing my blog and photos ever since hearing about Diane of Lavender Dreams. I am happy to see she had her blog back on 2/26. Would it help to buy your domain and blog name? Would blogspot still be able to come along and take it all away?  If anyone has purchased their domain thru Google or Blogspot? If you think it is a good idea, please let me know.

On Feb 4-6th we were in Ocean City Maryland.  Bird watching is one of my simple pleasures and the sea ducks and birds in Ocean City did not disappoint me. I also enjoy the sunrises and sunsets.

Here comes the sun!

A beautiful sunrise and a beautiful day!

Our hotel on the beach, we had a nice room with a partial view on the 5th floor.

I think this may be the Common Loon, seen swimming in the ocean while we were watching the sun rise.

Ocean City Inlet, a great spot for seeing the sea ducks.

I am pretty sure this is the Common Eider below, seen at the Ocean City inlet. They have a long-nosed appearance. This one could be a first winter male?

The Common Eider and the Bufflehead ducks.

A male Bufflehead with a few females or first winter males.

Two Common Eider @ Ocean City Inlet.

The Long-tailed Ducks were seen at the Ocean City Inlet.

The Bufflehead ducks were seen in groups.

I am thankful to enjoy watching the birds, my simple pleasure.
I am thankful to see the beautiful sunrise!
I am Thankful, Grateful and Blessed!
