More photos from Bombay Hook NWR, we saw some wonderful birds. The large white birds with black wings are the American Avocets and the birds in flight maybe Dunlins and Plovers. These images are best enlarged.

I am pretty sure the birds sitting right in front of the Avocets are the Short-billed Dowitchers. But, they are so far away there could also be the Long-billed Dowitchers.

Below are the American Avocets, Dowitchers, Semipalmated Plovers and maybe more thrown in.

I think the Egrets were gathering so they could south south together.

A few gulls and Yellowlegs.

I admire the birders who can watch one group of birds looking to see if there is a different species mixed in. I did notice with this group there were a few Black-bellied Plovers mixed in with the Avocets and Dowitchers. Can you find them?

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Happy Autumn!

I had a few days around Sept 12th-14th seeing the fall warblers moving through my yard. I was happy to see them enjoying the berries on the devil's walking stick we planted years ago for the warblers. I took all these images from my dining room window so some images maybe fuzzy.

The Black-throated Blue Warbler is a beautiful bird.

The male Cape May Warbler has some bright yellow colors.

Top row are the male and female Cape May Warbler, bottom row is the Black-throated Blue Warbler and another Cape May Warbler seen with the Black-throated Blue Warbler.

This is either the female Cape May Warbler or a first year male?

Top left is the female or juvie Cape May Warbler and below to the right is the Black-throated Blue Warbler.

Black-throated Green Warbler.

This could be the female Scarlet Tanager or a first year juvenile Male?

The Worm-eating Warbler came to the deck and was watching a House Finch in the feeder right below.

I believe this one below is the Tennessee Warbler. First fall female or male?

Not sure if this is the Northern Parula, female or first fall? I've been fooled before with a Yellow-throated Vireo, so this one below is tricky for me.

The Chestnut-sided Warbler below has some pretty colors.

My post is more on our visit to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. We were there during a great time to see the Egrets, Herons and Shorebirds on the move. It's migration time, sad to see these beauties leaving us for now.

Pretty view of a couple of Bobolinks.

Deer and it's reflection

A Blue Grosbeak, sorry about the tree branch in the way.

Just a guess below is a female Common Yellowthroat

Five juvenile Night Herons.

Peregrine Falcon

Cedar Waxwing, I hope that is berry juice on it's chest.

Green Heron in the hunt position. There is a shadow of the tree above right in the heron's head.

Another Peregrine Falcon

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Go away Hurricane Florence!  I hope everyone who is in the path of Hurricane Florence stays safe .

These are images from our walk to our lake on Labor Day Sept 3rd. It was a pretty sky day with puffy white clouds but hot and humid. I heard a few birds along our walk, a few Eastern Wood Pewees, White-breasted Nuthatches, Pine Warbler and the knocking of some woodpecker all heard but not seen.

It was a pretty sky day, white puffy clouds here and there.

Butterflies were the Monarch and various Swallowtail butterflies.

Just before the trail ended at the lake we saw one tree with red leaves.

One lone fishing boat on the lake.

Swallowtail Butterfly

There was one red leaf tree on the edge of the lake.

I am thankful to live so close to the lake, just a walk away.
am always thankful for all your visits and comments.

Shenandoah National Park

Happy Monday, have a great day!

These are some images from a recent day trip to Shenandoah National Park. We enjoyed the drive on Skyline Drive, hiked on the Limberlost Trail and a walk on the Big Meadows to see the flowers and butterflies.

We saw lots of deer along the Limberlost Trail.

Eastern Bluebirds were a nice sighting at the Big Meadows.

Mushroom seen along the trail.

We saw lots of butterflies during our Big Meadows walk.

Monarch on the Thistle at the Big Meadows.

These flowers were seen along the side of the Skyline drive.

Thanks for your visit today!  I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

Thanks to the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!

Some more photos from Bombay Hook NWR, the Great Blue Heron was chasing away another heron while he was trying to eat his fish.

Belted Kingfisher, I think this is the male. The female has a rust colored breast band.

The Snowy Egret tree, they look like decorations.

I cropped the photo above so I could make sure these were the Snowy Egrets, so I could see their yellow feet.

This tree has the Kingfisher on the left and the Egrets on the right.

Two Night Herons, I am not sure if they are the Yellow-crowned or the Black Crowned?

A cool shot of the Great Blue Heron.

The Eagle nest with a Bald Eagle sitting below and off the the right.
