My snow birds

The header photo above shows a pretty sunrise the morning after the snowstorm. We had an offical 18-20 inches of snow. During the snowstorm I saw many birds at my feeders. Of course I was doing my feederwatch count. I have a higher than usual count during a snowstorm than on clear nice days.

You can click on any of the photos for larger image

Birds in my mosaic are Male Cardinal, Bluejay, Titmouse, next row female Cardinal, Mourning Dove and a White Throat Sparrow. Last row is my front street and view of my back yard.

Many of you do have feeder, I wonder do we find any feeder in Malaysia. Have not heard before.

But this attracts birds very successfully.

That snow looks impressive.
I'm glad you stayed safe and 'your' birds as well, during the storms!

I love the Cardinal, and I've never ever seen a Cowbird.

Sigh :)

Great shots of the little birds, they are all so cute. Your snow is gorgeous. Our has melted and now we have very thick fog which is just dreary. I really like the shot of the little wren, what a cutie.

Your mosaic is beautiful! You have such a nice variety of birds at your feeders. New snow does always seem to make the activity around the feeders more intense. I think the wild seeds that the birds normally feed on get covered up so they go where it's easy.

What a neat mosaic with the neighboring birds. and the snow scenes are lovely.

I really like the Oystercatchers are your previous post. MB

Great shots of the birds. The snow looks pretty but it can cause some problems. It was even on our news tonight about the snow storms in USA.

Beautiful photos, Eileen - I paused over the cowbird on the feeder, then realized that they probably winter in your area - among the good features of a VT winter is that the cowbirds abandon us for a few months. Happy holidays!

Hmmm ... I don't know how I missed this post until now but I'm delighted to find your marvelous bird mosaic and beautiful snowy views of your wintry surroundings. I'm amazed at how those beautiful feathered friends survive in such cold weather and love the picture of Goldie ;-)

Well I must say, your snow birds are much different than the ones we get here in Florida. You might know them better by their common name — tourists!

It is very interesting to see birds that I'm used to seeing here in your cold and snowy environment.

I see you enjoying traveling and with your love of birds, I'd like to suggest traveling to the Space Coast (East Coast of Florida). There is much to see, such as Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach, but you'll fall in love with Merritt Island. This refuge is shares land with KSC and is spectacular for birdwatching.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

You have done such a nice job catching them in your lens. I love the wren - they are some of my favorite birds. And that Cardinal is so brilliant! I enjoyed perusing your blog today. And you are right, your Goldie does look a lot like our Fezzik. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings and Merry Christmas,

Your photos are wonderful! I love the mosaic of all the birds, but my favorite is the last photo with the snow on all of the trees. :)

Wish you a blessed safe season.

I enjoyed seeing the birds at your feeders, and your good looking Goldie Girl. We got 9 inches of snow yesterday, on top of what we already had from the last few days and previous snow.

Well, our plants are probably happy underneath their white blanket.
