This is a shot of a Brown Bobby a lifer for me and was seen during my Caribbean Cruise last year. We were on a smaller tour boat that was taking us to the island of St John. This bird happen to fly by our boat and it was close enough for me to get this shot. I was surprised how it turned out since the bird was moving and the boat we were on was moving.
The Brown Bobby has been seen all along the Atlantic Coastline. Even seen from the coastline of my state of Maryland.
This is my entry for World Bird Wednesday and to see more wonderful birds click on my link.
Thanks to Springman for hosting and thanks for stopping by to see my entry.

A great serendipity shot.
It must be a big bird, as big as a dinosaur of the ancient time.
That's a fantastic shot, Eileen, almost like a painting. It would make a wonderful framed picture. Such an unfortunate name for a beautiful bird like this.
That's a beauty, I've never seen one.
Great shot of the Brown Booby!
wonderful catch! such unique-looking birds that i've only seen in books... :)

You obviously have very steady 'sea legs' Eileen. Well done.

How I would love to see a brown booby! Nice photo. It's hard to believe, but one was seen in my neck of the woods off of San Juan Island just a couple of years ago.
What a beautiful bird! Those markings are awesome!
Great photo. I went back to my books and we have a Brown Booby out here in Australia that looks just like your photo. I need to do some study on seabirds!

Your Brown Booby looks like it may be able to fly a bit. Man that thing is streamlined!
Fantastic capture of that remarkable bird!
What a great or lucky shot. Most of my good ones are lucky. Very interesting. Do they dive into the water to feed?
Very cool shot of the bird, Eileen. I have never heard of a brown booby.

a great shot -- I'd never have known it was taken under difficult circumstances. It's quite an interesting bird and I wonder where it got such a funny name.
