It's time to link up with some of my favorites memes Watery Wednesday II , Skywatch Friday and NF Winged
These are shots from last weekend and our trip to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. I took a lot of shots of the Snow Geese and other ducks seen at Bombay Hook.
It was a beautiful day to be out, the skies were blue and clear. And at times the sky was filled with Snow Geese!
The first Snow Geese we saw landed on this field. This view is a common scene around the Bombay Hook NWR.
This shot above shows just how large the flock is, my photo is not showing able to show all the Snow Geese.
Coming in for a landing, make way for me.
I enjoyed watching these Northern Shovelers following each other in a row.
A view of one of the ponds at Bombay Hook, the sunlight was reflecting across the water.
When we first arrived at the refuge there was ice and the geese and ducks were skating on sections of the pond.
I am not sure why my photo has these red spots, maybe a reflection from the car window. I kind of like how this photo turned out.
The sun was heading down as we left the wildlife refuge. I hope you enjoyed my ride around the wildlife refuge.
To see more beautiful photos please visit Watery Wednesday II
and pretty skies Skywatch Friday
and to see more of the winged critters check out NF Winged
Thanks to Tricia for hosting Water Wednesday II, Sylvia and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday! Thanks to the host of NF Winged. Also, thank you for stopping by to see my post. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend.

These are great, Eileen! I always enjoying seeing the fields full of snow geese when we visit the Skagit Valley in the winter. You captured them well, and I especially like that landing shot. Well done!
I definitely enjoyed your ride around the wildlife refuge! I'd love to see ducks skating, and the shots of all the birds are amazing!
Nice shots! I especially love the sun shots...spots and all!
Wonderful images. I really like the third one of the snow geese. I've never seen that kind of bird.
That's a lot of geese. I especially like your last two photos of the sun flare and the reflection on the water.
Awesome photos! I love the one of the geese coming in for a landing. It's neat how you can see their black feathers on their wings. The sunny shots are gorgeous, too!
I'd have trouble picking a favorite...they are all so great! I do favor the one that has the red spots, though...amazing group of photos!
Hi Eileen...Love that landing shot..and is that having all you ducks in a row "cute shot"!!
The pond is a gorgeous one, with the water sparkling!!
The last two are pretty, and interesting, cameras have some odd outcomes at times!!

Great photos Eileen . . . Loved the Snow Geese!
WOW! So many geese!! And it's so cool how their legs hang down when they're coming in to land - a little bit like Pelicans downunder!
I adore the RED dots in your photo - don't change it!!!
And have a lovely day!!
Great pictures - really like the last 2. Wish you a good day :)
Fun post, Eileen. Snow geese are wonderful birds!
Lovely photos, I love all those shovellers in a line!
I never went to Bombay Hook when I lived back east, these images make me regret that! How lovely Eileen!
Ahh, nothing like a relaxing shot of geese with a nuclear reactor in the background.
Heisann! Marvellous scenery... I like the landscape with the lake and the life there!
...and join the Blogger´s Sunday Walk April 7 ;:OD)
It was nice to see all these birds.
What a perfect day - lovely sun and loads of snow geese! Lovely shots.

Nice shots...looks like a bright sunny wintery day.
wow!Those red spots are special.
Eileen, looks like you spent a lovely day at the refuge. Beautiful photographs! I especially love all the shovelers lined up in a row.
This must be where all of our birds go for the winter. We certainly do not have gaggles of birds here in cold Chicago! Lovely photos.
Hallo Eileen!Great pictures!!It was nice to see all these beautiful birds!Have a lovely evening!!

Lots of birds there.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Always love all the ducks and birds and what lovely skies!! The path of light across the water is beautiful! Hope you have a great weekend, Eileen!! Enjoy!
What a wonderful day Eileen! I envy you being so close to Bombay Hook, it seems like the best birding place ever!!
All great pictures, but I particlarly love the parade of shovelers. The whole series is great, makes me feel as if I spent the day alonside you. (Wish I could; you'd be a wonderful birding guide!)
Very cool shots Eileen of the Snow Geese....well done. I love that one of them landing. That is quite the sight when thousands of them are all coming in at once. WOWSA!
That's a lot of geese! Love the shots of the geese landing. As for your spots, you are getting lens flare from the bright sun in the picture. It comes from internal reflections in the lens. It is present in your last shot also and enhances the effect of the sun reflected on the water.
Love the final capture of the day. Very well done.
Your love of nature shines through in your photography Eileen .... always a delight to click over and see what you've been up to.
Wow! I don't think I have ever seen that many geese at one time. The shot of them all in flight is amazing.
holy goose! that's a lot of them. what a treat. thanks.
I really like how you caught the patterns of the birds in the sky, the landscapes, and how close you got to the geese landing on the water.
great shot of the snow geeze and the shovelers.
It seems like a great place for birding. :)
Hi Eileen,
We like quite particularly the photo with the snow geese which arise ;-)
Céline & Philippe
Beautiful!
No, the ice is not thick enough for ice skating :-)
Widok tylu gęsi na niebie jest wspaniały i miło było patrzeć na nie. Pozdrawiam.
Sight of so many geese in the sky is gorgeous and it was nice to look at them. Yours.
I came by your blog and the first thing I said out loud was "Ooohhhh"! Love your bird photos, and I'm happy to have found a fellow bird blogger! Or did you find me? LOL! Thank goodness for Vicki's Grow Your Blog party! I'll be following along with your birding adventures too Eileen!

WoW, what an amazing entry packed with so much beautiful nature!! Love the sun flare, you captured that perfectly!
These are all so stunning.
Hi Eileen-
I'm returning the visit from Girasole Farm via GYB Party.
I love all your birds pictures. I enjoy feeding and watching the birds here at our place.
I have a couple of birds books that both my Grand-daughters really like to look at, and it is great fun.
To be honest- this is the first bird watching blog I have ever come across.
I'll be joining as a follower, and hope to get to know you a little better.
Your pictures are great.
We'll be chatting again soon.

I love seeing the flocks of birds. The last shot with the beautiful sunset and the grasses is a stunner.

Beautiful bird pics and I like the one with grass too. Have a great weekend :)
Wow, so many snow geese in the air! Thank you for sharing so many waterfowl and natural beauties in the winter pond.
Absolutely wonderful to see Eileen. The geese in the flock...in the sky...wow. Blows me away. And the sun filtering through the wild grasses...awe inspiring.
Greetings, Eileen, from a snowy, slushy UK! I love the quality of the light in your photos, the coming-in-to-land shots of the majestic Snow Geese (I'm feeling jealous!!! - would love to see these) ... and of course the delightful Shovelers!
Beautiful photos of that flock of geese.
I like the picture that you get from the car
Without your pemiso I stay around here.
A kiss from Beja, Salamanca. Spain
Olá Eileen, que preciosas fotos! Esses gansos proporcionam um espectáculo voando em bandos enormes por esses céus! Esse refúgio é um paraíso! E esses céus e pôr-do sol maravilhosos! Gostei muito do seu "post"! Bom fim de semana. Abraços Ailime
Wow ... great series, Eileen. Love the shot from the pond at Bombay Hook and the landing Snow Geese!
Wish you a great weekend!
Irene:)
Beautiful captures:)
beautiful sunset photos.
What an impressive flock of geese! That would be fun to see and photograph. Myakka State Park is a great place for birding, particularly in the evening in the winter. Depending on when you'll be visiting in April, some of the migratory birds may still be here. Also, you may want to check out the celery fields in Sarasota which is a wonderful birding location as well.
Nice photos, yes, I like those birds. The second is my favorite.
I don't believe I've ever seen such a large flock of snow geese. Your photo of them coming in for a landing is great. I also like your sunset photos -- they're beautiful.
Stunning photos you are great for going somewhere different. Have a lovely weekend
Beautiful pictures ! I love the ducks so many !!

That last image is pure majestic~
Wonderful series, Eileen. The third and seventh shot are my favourites.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend.
Beautiful photos Eileen. It looks so serene and refreshing. I've never seen snow geese of shovelers, so thank you for sharing them. I miss not being near the water and Maryland is a wonderful place for that.
Cindy

Lovely view. Love the sun light over the water. Have a great week.
That's an incredibly beautiful place, Eileen. Your bird shots are amazing, too.
