Pine Warbler

I am linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes

For this week's Wild Bird I am sharing my pretty Pine Warbler..

The Pine Warblers have white bellies, white wing bars and long pointed bills. The adults males have olive upperparts and bright yellow throats and breasts.

My first sign that the Pine Warbler was back in the yard was hearing his song..sometimes a rattle call but also sounding like the Chipping Sparrow. But his song tends to be slower and more musical..

The male has been appearing in my yard for a few years now.. He enjoys some sunflower chips and the peanut suet..

I have to say the Pine Warbler is one of my favorite yard birds.. They are also a breeder in the woods next to my house.. So I will be enjoying these pretties all summer long. I hope you enjoy my Pine warbler.

Sitting at my computer, I can look out and see the Pine Warbler at the suet feeder. It did not seem to mind the snow coming down..Another 4 or more inches..on St. Patrick's Day.. I hope this is the end of the snow..

Thanks for stopping by my post and for all the nice comments.

What wonderful shots of a beautiful bird. I love the shot on your header with the Jay and the peanut. We don't have those birds in Germany...too bad, as well as unfortunately nooooo gorgeous Cardinals:(. I think I need to import some of them don't you. We have basically the same kind of climate as the northeast so I think they would feel right at home.

So lovely to see this bird - "pretty Pine Warbler" (n.b. "pitulice" in my native language) in beautiful pictures... Beautiful macro pics!!

Sorry about your snow. I did not send it!
We are STILL 10-15 degrees below our normal temps. I love winter, but really, this is ENOUGH.
I'd love to see some color--especially something as pretty as your pine warbler. What a handsome fella-enjoy!

Great looking bird! I like the lime green.

I agree that the Chapel looked "out of place" - I think it looked like it had been stamped into place on the rock, rather the built with the them.

In some ways, I find its relationship to the land under it rather violent.

Such a cute little bird! I love it's bright color. And I really love your fourth photo of this little guy. He's giving you a "tweety bird, I saw a puddy tat" look. :)

He is really sweet. So much like a pine siskin. I'm not very good at proper identification. I'm sure there are many differences. Love your photos of him!

We saw our first pine warbler last weekend. I wish I had been able to get photos. Yours are so good, especially the ones of him on the deck with the seeds.
