Linking up with Skywatch Friday and Good Fences
I am so happy it is Spring, though I wish it would not fly by too quickly. I am sharing some sky shots and fences on this post..These are various shots from a few days before Easter and on Easter Sunday. Hubby and I visited another birdie spot called Oxbow Lake in Laurel, Maryland.
Riding down my street I noticed we have a new baby in the neighborhood..Foal is resting...So cute! A fence shot for my Good Fence entry..
Speaking of babies, Baby Neill is growing so quickly. Neill will be two in October.. He is not a baby any more..Above he is being pushed on his new bike..a gift from his granny..my sister. Am I bad, I love calling my sister granny.. Just teasing, my sister loves being a granny and we all love Baby Neill. A great fence shot, right?
Easter dinner was at my sister's place, it was a nice day for Neill to play outside..
Our birdie spot..Oxbow Lake in Laurel Maryland..It was another pretty day and sky..I was on a Snipe hunt on this day.. I read some Wilson's Snipes were reported being seen at this spot..
A couple of Tundra Swans were making their way around the lake..
Above a male and female Mallard and an American Wigeon.
Before leaving home, hubby asked me if I wanted to take my scope..I knew the trail could be difficult in places did not want to have to worry about carrying (hubby carries) the scope. Little did we know, this was the place for the Snipes.. A couple days before our visit 155 or more Snipes were sighted.. I did not notice till much later my photo includes some snipes that my binocs did not pick up.. Oh well, lesson learned... take the scope! I can see Snipes all along one spot in the photo above..find the arrows pointing out some of the Snipes. They just look like brown blobs in my photo though.
Above an overlook at the sky and the lake..Lovely day..to be outdoors I only wish the Snipes were closer to the trail.

Beautiful Easter memories (love the soap bubbles!) and great bird shots!
Have a lovely weekend!
Wow-Neill is sure growing fast! What a cutie.
Guess your hubby was right about the scope. I don't know what I would do without my guy---he's always reminding me to bring stuff along.
Enjoy the day!
:)
Spring means so much more when you've had a hard winter obviously. It does look springlike from your photos. It must have been great to see the Snipe.
Finally,I think there are hopefully some signs of relief from inclement weather.
Ah, the awakening of spring! Tom The Backroads Traveller
Hi Eileen, Neat photos, good entry for Good Fences, and I always love your moon shots. Do you use a special lens for them? Have a happy day!

Love the fence photos Eileen!!! Springtime...a favorite time of year for me.
You and me both...I'd love a house on the shores of the Gulf....except for the storms!!!!
Love the foal- and baby Neill fences :-))
And too bad you didn't get the snipers the way you wanted. That's life: learning, learning, learning... :-D
Have a beautiful and happy day!

Nice fence shot with little Neill riding by. So cute.
Wonderful bird shots even without your scope.
Happy Thursday.

Lovely scenery. You are so blessed with all these sighting of birds and especially for the Snipes which you were looking for.
enjoyed your wandering :)
The sweet little foal just chillin' in the protective presence of his mom is such a lovely shot!
And Neill - what a cutie! Easter is so much fun when kids that age are present!
Little Neil is a real Sweetie Eileen. An adorable little boy. Enjoyed all the other photos. How neat to see the foal. Enjoyed the birds also and the pretty scenery, and your moon photo, those are always impressive. Have a great day :)
so much beauty out there and no scope, but you did capture all that beauty for us and i like both babies behind both fences...
Adorable spring shots.

Hoi Eileen,
Beautiful reminder of Easter.
I love horses, the soap bubbles and the moon.
Have a nice day.
I laughed at your comments about carrying the right equipment when hiking. We have the same problem. It's so hard to carry everything you might need--but if you don't, you'll need it... sorry about your Snipes. Bet you will go back with your scope!!!!!!
Great set of pictures..Neill is growing up too fast!
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Eileen, the mother and foal: special. your nephew is awesome. Thanks for sharing the special moon and birds. Have a great day Jo
I completely agree with you. It sure seemed when I grew up that spring lasted so much longer. Your horse capture is really fun, as are all your photos. You have a talent for sharing life's special moments out and about nature. Always a fun visit here.
another great spot to visit!! i was thinking the same thing...i hope it doesn't spring on by!!!!

What a lovely fence shot with Neill! And all your photos are so beautiful!
Nice memories to keep of this year's Easter holidays, dear Eileen!
Many hugs from Athens!!!
I so enjoy your wildlife shots...and love the foal resting in the sun. Being a Granny or Mamaw is the greatest thing on earth! I did not know what I was missing till I became one..
Nice spring photos. Here in Florida we just move from winter into summer-- it has been so warm this winter that we had to keep the air conditioning on most nights. We plan to fly into spring in Illinois in a couple of days!
That moon picture is amazing!!!
such a beautiful moon!
happy weekend ;-)
Excellent photos! Love your moon! :)
Breathtaking capture of the moon!! And, as always, I love all of your pics and that young one is a handsome little fellow!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!!
Pure brilliance, I love it all.

Hi Eileen, fantastic photos! Spring is a beautiful season that gives us a lot of motivation! I loved the selection of photos! Babies are adorable! And the Moon, wonderful! Thank you for visiting! I wish you too a good weekend.
These are all wonderful shots. I love seeing the horse and the big beautiful moon as well as the others too.
Very nice !
Beautiful picture of the moon! Happy weekend!
I really like your photo of the mare and foal. I can sympathize with you about not having your scope with you. It seems as if every time I leave my long lens some place, I find the perfect opportunity to use it. I love your moon photo.
Love your moon shot. I'm fascinated by space photos.
I think everyone wishes spring would last longer. That baby foal is darling. Little Neill seemed to be enjoying his outing. Some great shots from the birding area too.
omgosh, the little horsie resting is so cute, as is baby Neill!

Young Neill looks so confident on his new bike, cute Easter photos with the bubbles. Enjoy these special moments as blink and he will be riding that foal now all grown up too down the street!!

Hi Eileen, Nice shots! I really like that of the Widgeon. Have a really fine Friday tomorrow!
Lots of terrific shares here. A real cutie that Neill. The foal is precious and I am always loving seeing horses shared at the blogs. we still have snow and I want some Spring and I want it to last for a while too. Have a great weekend, thanks for sharing.
Wonderful images!!
Nell is growing up . . . Two already, wow!
Great fence shot with him in it . . .
And your April 1 moon is wonderful . . .
Wonderful variety you have for us. Love to see your well composed posts!
A lovely lake shot
Such a great collection of pics capped by a great photo of the moon.
I think you are a very curious person. And that is a good thing in my book.
it is always difficult to know what camera lens to take isn't it? I never seem to have the right lens on, and I have now resorted to just carrying my zoom, though I do hanker for a longer zoom!
Have a great weekend ahead Eileen, and thank you so much for visiting my blog earlier this week and for your kind comments.
You stole the show with a new foal!
Wonderful time and shots. Happy Spring!
I know what you mean about not wanting spring to pass too soon Eileen. Likewise not wanting to see our grandchildren grow up too soon.
It's a problem for me in deciding what to carry, scope or camera with long lens. The latter almost always wins.
I enjoyed your pictures from Oxbow Lake today. Have a great weekend ahead.
Hello Eileen!:) Thank for your visit earlier this week.Sorry I'm a bit late, just couldn't manage to visit sooner.Your fence shots are great, and it looks like you had a good day out with hubby.
Happy Friday, Eileen. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics. Neill is growing fast.
Nice sky/space watch and a great nature around your house.
Eileen,
Oh how I enjoyed these photos! Inspirational plus, the foal so precious, the moon!! Sweetbaby( I think 2's are still babyish) and the scenery- a gorgeous Easter for certain!

Jemma

A great series of photos!
Have a wonderful week-end!

Lovely moon shot and marshland!
You are such a good photographer, Eileen! I especially loved seeing the mare and foal. Beautiful! I'm a horse girl from way back...got my first pony at age 11 and Quarter horses after that. After college, no more horses for me. :( It's a very expensive hobby and also I was busy starting a career and family at that stage of my life.
Thanks for sharing your photos.
Hugs, Beth
Dearest Eileen; Baby Neill and Foal are SO adorable(*^_^*)
Wonderful photographs of birdies and the moon shot which I always admire♪
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
Great photos as always. Personally, I think "great-aunt" sounds just about as old as "granny" ;;;...although I am happy to be both! And even a great-granny!
