Susquehanna River trail

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday   and NC Sue Wordless  They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun  and check out some of the participating posts.

I am sharing some scenes and wildflowers from our walk on the Susquehanna River Trail.  Our walk was back in early May when the wildflowers were blooming all along the trail. It was a pretty sight, you just had to be there. And of course there always birds to see.

Like  above the Prothonotary Warbler, a cute Titmouse playing hide-n-seek, Mourning Cloak butterfly, and the Bald Eagles.

The Virginia Bluebells were seen all along the trail..

Some of the bluebells were pink and other shades of purple & blue.

I am not sure of all the wildflower names but I recognize the Virginia Bluebells, ferns and the Trillium. The other I am not sure what their names are, maybe someone can help?

I am not sure of these yellow pretties, they were seen along the Susquehanna River trail. Per Karolina these are called Celandine. Thanks to a nice friend for your id help!

Some wildflowers were tiny white and delicate looking. This plant is known as the Cutleaf Toothwort, edited thanks to Karolina's help.

Above are the Rock Run Grist Mill and views of the Susquehanna River from the state park.

These White wildflowers are the Dutchman's Breeches.

The Prothonotary Warbler, with his bright yellow-orange head and neck. I hope you enjoyed this walk with the bird and wildflowers.

Thank you for visiting and for all the nice comments.. Have a great day and week ahead!

I use Pic Monkey to create my mosaics, you can use Pic Monkey free or pay for an upgraded version.
I hope you can join in on our fun with Mosaic Monday  and Our World Tuesday and NC Sue's Wordless.

Thanks to Judith our host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer and to Sue for Wordless Wednesday on Tuesdays.

Oh, Eileen, what a wonderful post! Lovely flowers and beautiful birds.
I believe our Mourning Cloak butterfly is the same species as in Northern America, and I find very interesting that the vernacular name used here means the same as yours. (According to Wikipedia, in Britain it's called Camberwell Beauty.)
Thank you for sharing and have a great week ahead!

If your photo of the "yellow pretties" was a quilting fabric, I'd buy 100 yards of it!

I love bluebells and the variance in their colors. I wonder if they are like hydrangeas and change color depending on the PHbalance of the soil?
So pretty and like how the photos on your sidebar change!
Have a lovley evening,

Love the stone gristmill.
We visited our local mill and covered bridge yesterday but too much people traffic for photos. Will go on a early weekday.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

That Bald Eagle nest looks so vulnerable to weather and interference but then I guess no one is going to climb that rickety old tree. I've never heard of pinkbells before, only blue or white. Nice shots Eileen.

The bluebells are so pretty in the wild - you should see my one and only plant - trampled by a rambunctious chipmunk chaser!
I enjoyed all of the wildflowers you found Eileen and of course the birds and butterflies that are part of the ecosystem there.
Love the fuzzy white chick in your header, I can see how soft the downy feathers are.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

What a beautiful warbler! I love the tiny warblers although they don't nest here, just migrate through in early spring to the northern woods. This looks like a very worthwhile hike for both the flora and the fauna. Enjoy your week Eileen!

What i love most in temperate country wildlands are the beautiful wildflowers. They are colorful and flowers are big unlike in our wildflowers in the hot tropics. I love most those blue ones.

It is amazing to see these wildflowers Eileen. We would think they are "cottage garden flowers" over here. Your wildflowers are so very different to wildflowers you would see in Australia.
I enjoyed the walk with you. Have a great week, and thank you for stopping by this week.
