Hello, I am sharing more images from our daytrip to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. I have some fence scenes with the birds and some sky shots starting with our sunrise.
Before leaving on our outing I saw a pretty pink sunrise and the moon setting over our house.
Now, we are at Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware enjoying a Glossy Ibis skywatch.
A pretty sky, white puffy clouds and Egrets everywhere.
An Egret fence, I believe most of them are the Great Egrets. Except I cut off a Great Blue Heron on the right side of the photo.

Sorry these are not the best photos taken thru my car window but above is a Great Blue Heron perched on a fence near the Finnis Pool, Bombay Hook NWR.
It really was an Egret day, the few dark spots in the grasses are the Glossy Ibis, click for a larger image and better view.

I love that Egret fence...when I see the long-legged wading birds perched on fences it strikes me so funny. No matter how many times I see it. I sometimes wonder how they balance their big body on the long skinny legs.
Hi Eileen, that's a lovely blue sky with white clouds and the white spots of Egrets everywhere! Love the Egret fence with the Great Blue Heron too.
The pretty pink clouds were a nice start to your post and trip.

Bombay Hook is a wonderful place to do some birding.
Hi Eileen, I missed this post so this is a catch-up comment. First, thanks for taking time to respond to my request for a hawk ID. No worries.. the pics weren't great and even with my book, I can't seem to decide what it was. As for this post, that sky and moon are magnificent. Such fun, sometimes, rising early for a special day like this. So many Egrets. Wow! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
