For Teresa's Friday Hunt
I am sharing this photo from our walk at Assateague Island. It is my Favorite photo from the day and I would say this trail is Beautiful. I like how the trail is lined with these bushes, it reminds me of a natural tunnel.

For Teresa's Friday Hunt and the letter "D" I saw a lot of Ducks, Grebes and Mergansers at Assateague Island, sorry the lighting was not very good for the shot above.

They are calling for a big snowstorm (1-2 feet of snow) this weekend. I am wishing the weathermen are wrong and we do not get as much snow as they are calling for. I am also praying our electric stays on and this storm goes by quickly. I hope everyone in the storms path stays warm and safe!

The cute Yellow-rumped Warblers a winter bird for Assateague were the most common bird we saw. There must have been hundreds of them around the island.

A Great Blue Heron lurking in the grasses.
Some of the wild ponies were right on the road.
The horses were crossing back and forth in front of our car.

Hi Eileen, always enjoy seeing these beautiful birds in your photos. It is so wonderful to be able to see wild ponies on the road just like we see cows on the road over here.

The Y R [myrtle] warbler is darling. A lot of them here in Texas in the winter. And the horses are fantastic.

So lovely to see your beautiful photos gracing my screen this morning, Eileen!
The trail looks awesome and inviting for a stroll inside the shadow of the bushes! Really beautiful capture on the wild horses and this remind me my visit to Point Calimere (a wildlife scrub forest here) where I found many wild horses along my drive inside.

i love all your photos you have shown us of this island. a place i foul like to visit. horses in the road is like a dream to me.. the little bird sitting sideways made me think of this morning. on the way to walmart, sitting at a light, there were 5 little birds hanging on in the wind that is gusting to 45 today, i don't know how they were hanging on
Eileen, I generally don't give too much thought to the birds, generally they are more trouble (clean-up jobs) and they are worth. But your Yellow-rumped Warbler is a cute friendly and fragile looking bird. Nice, thank you.
All your pictures are beautiful, I suppose the horse ones get my vote. I had thought wild horses were to be found only Out West.

Just love your Assateague photos! Wonderful always seeing the wild ponies, and the birds are so awesome too. Hope you aren't snowed under! And yes, that the electricity stays on! That is always such a huge concern with these storms. Friends in Mississippi after a hurricane went through had no electricity for over three weeks....fortunately they had a generator! It can be so scary! Take care! Thanks again for the meme!

Love your little Yellow-Rumped Warbler! We see them occasionally here. But right now we are overrun by goldfinches. We have never had so many.

Great shots of the ponies! Now we begin the melting... not much snow here... how about you? I had a Lifer visit my feeder this morning... a Female Red-Winged Blackbird! Not that I want anymore of that type bird to visit, but it was neat!
