Happy Thursday,
I am continuing our travels in Washington state on this post. We were driving on Route 20 and after taking the Coupeville Ferry we arrived in Port Townsend. We visited the Fort Worden State Park and the Point Wilson Lighthouse in Port Townsend.
These are some images of the lighthouse, beach and birds seen on our walk around the park. It was a cloudy day, luckily no rain during our walk on the beach and around the lighthouse.
The sky blends into the white color of my blog post. This is the Point Wilson Lighthouse, located in Port Townsend Washington.
A walk on the beach, the body of water is the Strait of Juan de Fuca and is at the west entrance to the Puget Sound.
My mosaic shows various birds we saw while walking on the beach and around the grounds of the park. Some are the Common Murre, various Gulls, Red-necked Grebe, Common Mergansers, Rhinoceros Auklets, Fox Sparrows, Barn Swallow, Oregon Junco and Wilson's Warbler. Click on the mosaic for an enlarged image, the birds look a little better.
Walking on the beach, I had a different view of the lighthouse.
Below is my Lunapic edit of the photo above, I like how the sky changed color.
I loved this rusty old canoe.
My thankful list for today:
It should go without saying, I am thankful to wake up each morning.
I am thankful to be able to travel. Our country has some beautiful places to visit.

Serene, comforting, and vacant...in another time we live here, away from all the world and all the news of trouble made by tyrants...these photos are a deep breath of air!

What a beautiful, peaceful place! I love the lighthouse keeping watch and the rusty canoe, just waiting for another adventure in the water.
I love your lighthouse pics, Eileen and the Lunapic version would be great framed on your wall!
Sweet little birds, especially the barn swallow and the warbler.
Best wishes!
I love these photos Eileen. You could hang the edit of the lighthouse on the wall!!
It looks so peaceful there and so many birds to see.
I had to google Rhinoceros Auklet. I can see why it is so named. It also looks as though it has a peg stuck on its beak!!
Have a wonderful Thursday :)
Great post.. Hope to make it to that part of the country some day. Just can't beat a Lighthouse.
...gorgeous!
WA is one of the states I have not seen. enjoyed my visit with you by camera lens
enjoyed :) Have a great Thursday
What fun to be able to visit different areas of the country. I think it would be cool to visit a lighthouse. Your luna pic looks great.
I love lighthouses....still on my bucket list to see just one...any one...I don't care which! Maybe I will be more discerning after I see the ONE. Nice edit on the sandy beach scene. Have a super day!
Hello,
Beautiful lighthouse!
I wish you a nice Thursday!
Since I live inland lighthouses and beach scenes are always interesting to me. And you always find interesting birds, too!
Have a great day!
Good morning! I'm thankful for being here to see all the lovely sites you have to share!
Nous aimons beaucoup la dernière photo ;-)

It looks a lovely place Eileen, and a good variety of birds too, I only heard recently of the Rhinoceros Auklet,by looking in to "Island Rambles" and now you are seeing them.
enjoy the rest of the week, Gordon.
Really like this place. Plenty of space and fresh air!
Lunapic, that is beautiful editing. And the lighthouse, I can imagine living there, being a keeper, checking that all was kept in perfect working condition. For so many sailors, the lighthouse was a beacon that gave direction, and over the years saved many lives, as they relied on it for navigation and safe voyages in dangerous waters. What a great place to visit.
Lovely photos, Eileen. That canoe would make a wonderful water color painting.
Enjoy your day.
What a magical place, Eileen! It looks so soothing and refreshing!
You got some wonderful pics, Eileen!
Such a wonderful lighthouse
That old canoe was a great find! Nice photos despite the cloudy skies (which are common in WA state)
Looks like a nice quiet spot, do many people visit there over Summer?
A really nice place to walk, or so it appears! I love that second shot of the lighthouse...
Lovely old boat, rusted and decaying. And I do love the 'painting', beautiful.
This is a lovely post Eileen, it looks a very nice peaceful place.
The way the Lunapic edit has come out is brilliant and it would make a great picture to frame and hang on a wall.
Lovely mosaic of the birds, I did enlarge the image.
All the best Jan
I really am a sucker for a lighthouse and I do like this one. I also love the photo manipulation. It's fun, isn't it?!
I love your edit of the lighthouse photo. Gorgeous!! Thanks for linking up today and have a great weekend!
We visited same kind of lighthouse last year...

What a beautiful lighthouse!
Loving the view of the lighthouse, extremely pretty. I can smell the sea air. You sure know your birds.

These are great Eileen. I like the lunapic effect and it would look fabulous in a frame on your wall. The rusty canoe is lovely and I enjoyed all your photos. Thank you and have a great weekend:)

Prześliczne zdjęcia. Latarnie są urocze.Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
I love the lunatic results, especially the canoe. Washington is beautiful, isn't it? Thank you for sharing because I haven't been there. Now I want to go.
After visiting your site, I can take on my day in gratitude. My favorite photo is of the canoe. See you next week at SkyWatch Friday.
I like your second view of the lighthouse, giving more a scenic sky and water. And, what a beautiful edit of this lighthouse! Good job. The old canoe also lends a great lead to the beautiful backdrop. Our country does have some most beautiful sites! Love this post. Happy Weekend, Eileen!
Beautiful place and Lighthouse.. Happy weekend..
Changing the sky color is fun Eileen, especially for those of us who live (at least part of the time) in the pacific Northwest! I once threatened to take a picture of the back of my writing tablet and link it to Skywatch Friday because it looked about the same as any sky photo I could have taken at the moment (I think that was the last time when we stayed here in Eugene until February or so).... Anyway, beautiful pictures of Port Townsend and surroundings (I like that town and we've even actually seen blue sky there in the past ;>)
How beautiful this place is and I love your photos of it! :)
Hi Eileen, glad to see you enjoyed our beautiful state! Looks like you had the beach all to yourself, too. Lovely photos. xx Karen
Amazing place. Beautiful pics.
Lovely shots.
Beautiful seashore shots ~ what a divine place ~ ^_^
Such a beautiful lighthouse! Beautiful Washington coast!
Wonderful pictures . . .
Loved that canoe photo . . .
Eileen - I don't know anything about Lunapic editing, but I need to learn - it is beautiful. It reminds me of a picture that we have (in storage at the moment). The rusty canoe was an inspired shot - it makes me wonder about it's story. Who left it there? What happened to them?
