Hello and happy Thursday,
I am linking up with Lydia of Where the Wild Things Were and the Favorite Fotos linky. Thanks Lydia for hosting the party.
MY thoughts and prayers are for all the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
I am sharing some images from our Washington State trip. For 4 nights in May, we stayed on the Pacific Coast at the Quiluete Ocean Resort. The resort is located right next to the Olympic National Park and we had an ocean front room on First Beach. The resort is operated by the Quiluete Tribe, there are no TV's or Wifi in the rooms. This was our second time staying at this resort they are very reasonably priced for an ocean front room.
Sunset on Pacific Ocean
This is a Pacific Wren or in some places known as the Winter Wren.
A scene from the trail to the Third Beach, it is a 1.4 mile hike one way.
Pink Trillium was seen all along the trail to the beach.
Third beach and Waterfall
A view of the sea stacks and ocean
Outside our room I was able to watch the White-crowned Sparrows and Gulls begging for food near the picnic tables.
A view gulls from our balcony.
A cloudy day sunset.
A map showing the Olympic National Park beaches. La Push is the town where the Twilight movie series was filmed.
"Collect moments, not things."

Lovely photos, Eileen. Reminiscent of scenery Mike and I saw on our trip to northern California this passed May. You call those outcroppings in the ocean "sea stacks"? I wondered about that. We saw one such formation out in the ocean that were were trying to determine just what it was. Mike thought it was a cargo ship, you know the ones that carry hundreds of those large metal containers. I told him it was rock with a bit of snow left on it because it has some white areas and it was cold when we were there. Couldn't get a good photo of it though with my camera as it was too far out. We figured we'd never know for sure.
Have a great day!
Hello,
Beautiful photos! I love your first photo very much. Cute small pink trillium, and I love them too. I have a lot of trilliums here :)
Happy Thursday!
Looks like a great area.
The shot of the sunset from your window is spectacular.
Great post Eileen, beautiful scenery, quite a hike you had, well done you.
Take care now, Gordon.

Hello! This place seems so tranquil and removed from the hustle and bustle of life I'm sure you enjoyed it and you captured the ocean views beautifully along with the sweet little wren, Seagulls are just the same scavengers everywhere!
Have a great day!

Oh I would have loved being there, Eileen!!! This year was the first year the Trillium blossomed, although I have no idea why as it's been in our woods since we moved in....:)JP
...wonderful, the first image stopped me in my tracks.
with all of that outside the doors why would a tv or wifi be needed. so beautiful. I would stay there in a heart beat
What a lovely place, peaceful, too! I am thankful that you and your husband get to travel and that you share the beauty with us!
The entire sea front and trail looks wonderful and unique to visit! The woods beside the beach with waterfall make really interesting to check. Glad you got to stay at a beach facing room to watch things beautifully happening around.
Beautiful part of the USA. I hope we get up there again one day. Those pink trilliums are very pretty. Love the scenery and love those birds. Great post Eileen, wishing you a happy day and weekend.

i love the tiny waterfall ... you would almost miss it ... gorgeous views. ( ;
What lovely photos, Eileen.
That first one especially is just beautiful.
Aren't those pink trilliums pretty.
I hope you have a good Thursday
All the best Jan
Sounds like a wonderful spot for a person like you with a good eye and a great camera. Very nice!
Lovely photos Eileen.. the Pacific Wren looks very much like our Wren in the UK. Your White-crowned Sparrow looks a lovely little bird. Love seeing the wildlife from other countries :o)
What a magnificent place, Eileen! Gorgeous photos!
Super pictures of a beautiful localtion Eileen. That must have been a quiet break without TV or the Internet. I'm not sure I could last 2 days without news and emails on tap.
That looks like quite an interesting place to visit. I didn't have the use of a car growing up in CA, so did not get out and about to see what was around us... sad to say. I shall live vicariously through your photos for now! I couldn't help but wonder if the sticks/tree trunks were put at the end of that trail on purpose, to keep people off the beach... ? Just a random thought. Hugs!
What glorious photos and a fabulous area. We'll have to make reservations at the lodge - it looks like a great place to visit - and we love the beach and the forest. Have a grand weekend. I'm thankful that I found your blog a few years ago - I really enjoy it all.
Beautiful scenery and bird photos, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be the Pink Trillium!
Have a wonderful day!
Love this part of the WA coastline! I've been to all these beaches and love the sea stacks. Actually I think the Twilight movies were filmed in the nearby town of Forks.
Looks like the seagulls are waiting for someone to bring them a picnic lunch. LOL
Beautiful.
What kind of birds are those outside your balcony?
What a beautiful view of the sea stacks and ocean. The trees along the trails look so tall, and, the trails themselves look never ending! I like that you included a map, showing all of the various beaches and sites along the way. Have a great day, Eileen. We're still praying and hoping for the Harvey victims. It seems as though the water just keeps rising.
What a lovely place , would love to walk the beach with the waterfall..beautiful.
Amanda xx
Gorgeous photos! We look forward to getting up to WA at some point. I really want to see the upper 1/3 of the OR coast and also the Colombia River, but Washington and then later Vancouver, British Columbia are definitely on the list!
Lovely views. It looks like a fantastic place to visit.
Very peaceful looking photos. Imagine no tv, and no wifi, the only way it could be better is if there were no cell signal. That would be quite an adjustment for me let me tell you, but I could handle it.
I love your thankful notes. What the world needs is more thankfulness.
Thanks for the tour of a place I will probably never see! The wonders of the blog world!
Love the sea stacks and also the beach waterfall. Looks like a place I would really enjoy visiting!
What a beautiful place you stayed at ~ surrounded by such beauty ~ and of course fantastic photography and great sky shots ~ thanks, ^_^

Great shots.
Your sunset photos are lovely. I always make time for sunset or sunrise when I'm in a place to view them.
There is nothing like travel. You can learn so much more through travel than you can in any classroom! Thanks for linking up today and have a great, holiday weekend!
Collect moments...I like that! We sure live in a beautiful country with so much to see...from sea to shining sea! I stood in the parking lot at the farmer's mkt and took pics of a Kestrel today. That was a thrill for me. Love the little wren and those big beautiful waves in the ocean! Hugs!
Wonderful pictures. Thank you for this look around into what must be a grand memory.
Oh, Eileen...this must have been a great place to be...really loved this series of photos. That first is wonderful.
Hope I get the chance to drive down that Pacific shore someday.
Beautiful photos Eileen. How nice to stay on the rugged coast of Washington Coast. Hope you have a nice Labor Day weekend.
How beautiful. Was in that part of the country all last week, but we never got to this place, pity.
Wonderful photos, Eileen - love the views of the beach and the sunset. Sweet little birds, too. Everything looks so wild there - always wanted to visit this area. Hope you have a lovely holiday weekend. xx K
