Hello and Happy Monday.
Can you believe how fast the days and month are flying by? I am sharing some images from our walk at the local nature center called Hashawha. I have done various post on our walks at this park you can check out other post listed on the tags and side bar.
There are two Eastern Bluebirds in the photo below, can you find them?
The American Crow below was talking or fussing about something.
There were some pretty water lilies in one of the three ponds at Hashawha Nature Center.
One spot along the trail was filled with pretty Bee Balm.
Next to the Bee Balm were these pretty purple flowers. Not sure of their id.

Just a guess, this is a Blue Dasher?
Slider turtles were plentiful. This one was just a baby.
Torn but still pretty Great Spangled Fritillary butterfly on the milkweed?
Just guessing this is a Window Skimmer?

And I had thought once a butterfly lost part of a wing, it was not able to continue to fly and eat. So glad I am wrong.Found the birds, what a view they must have up there.

Beautiful photos! The purple flowers on the left side looks like a sort of Anemone hupensis. Here we call it Autumn Anemone.

Another great nature hike through your lens! I don't have a dragonfly field guide must get one! Milkweed is one of my very favorite wild plants so beneficial to wildlife of all kinds.

That turtle has quite a bit of moss on its back - great camouflage!!! And I love the bee balm ... great attractant for butterflies. Happy to see the milkweed ... bring on the Monarchs! Have a wonderful week!

You will find your last photo of the dragonfly very beautiful! I have never seen such a dragonfly.
Unfortunately, we do not have these beautiful dragonflies in the Netherlands.

It took me a minute to find that second bluebird -- up on top of the first picture! amazing to me that you can get such good pictures of the Dragonflies, let alone ID them. As you know, I have enough trouble with birds! (And thank you again for all your help in that department!)

As always, your posts in nature make me want to go out, so envious of your walks and treks. That turtle is still a baby you said, yet it already has lots of algae at its back. Or maybe he just got it from coming up from the water.
