Hello and happy Monday!
Hubby and I often take our walks on the local NCR bike trail. It is mostly a flat trail and is easy to get in 3 miles round trip. Along the trail we have views of the river, the forest, birds and sometimes critters. These images are from various walks early in June.
June 4th, we walked 3 miles round on the NCR trail in Parkton, Md. In the mosaic are images of Mountain Laurel in bloom, the Gunpowder River, the bike trail and Gnome land on private property.
I noticed these pretty blooms on a Catalpa tree along the trail.
Most of my bird photos from our walks were not the best, the birds were either high up in the trees or behind branches and leaves. I think this is a flycatcher, just not sure which one.
I heard this bird before finding it, it is a Worm-eating Warbler.
This bloom reminded me of the Queen Anne's Lace but it was different.
June 11th, we walked another 3 miles round trip on another section of the NCR bike trail..
This stream is called the Bee Tree Run.
A White-tailed deer crossed the trail in front and quickly disappeared in the forest. You can see it's backside on the photo below.

Some more birds and butterflies seen off the NCR trail" Gray Catbird, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and a Red Admiral butterfly.

I think that the plant that reminds you a little of Queen Anne's Lace is Yarrow. Maybe get a second opinion, or when you go back that way take a plant ID book with you and check.

They say getting out in nature is a wonderful thing for your mental health. Just seeing your photos is great, too.
great sights. A little too warm to hike down here. Time to take a break. I worked in the yard Friday and fried my brain. Out for a bike ride Saturday...was stinking hot. Ten minutes doing something outside Sunday and I was sick all over again. Time to just enjoy the AC

You must have been refreshed both in body and soul by the two walks through lush green, with occasional meeting with wildlife. The worm-eating warbler looks like Japanese bush warbler which is drab olive green and comes for worms in the leaves. I checked how they sing and found they are different species. Have a nice week.

Vilken underbar natur ni har omkring er och där det finns vatten finns alltid mycket att upptäcka. Fint att få se ett blommande Catalpa träd, jag har faktiskt en Catalpa purpurea i min trädgård och jag är glad varje vår när jag ser att den överlevt vintern, någon blomning kan jag knappast hoppas på.

You really get to see a lot on that walk! Love the name of that little stream and of course the beautiful flowers in bloom. Here in the South....I call that tree a Catawwwwba tree. My hubby makes fun of me! hahaha! Hugs!

Eileen - there is something about a trail that has sun and shade, and leads the eye into a bend, that is so heartwarming and inviting. Love the Queen Anne's lace look-alike - super close-up shot!
