Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Wishing a Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! I like to include all the furbaby Mom's too!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
These are some of the birds that live in the forest around our home. The Pileated Woodpecker can be heard and seen almost every day.
The Pileated Woodpecker is one of the largest Woodpecker, 17 inches in length.
I watched this female Pileated Woodpecker pecking away at this downed tree from my deck.
The Hermit Thrush is another bird in our forest, but it is supposed to be a winter bird? I saw this bird on April 23rd. I was still seeing the Dark-eyed Junco and White-throated Sparrows around this day too. So, I guess my winter birds have not migrated as of yet.
The Hermit Thrush has a reddish tail.
The Hermit Thrush will soon be replaced by the Wood Thrush and the Ovenbirds that make this forest their home for the summer.
The Rose-breasted Grosbeak is one of my many favorite birds, it is just passing through. I was able to enjoy these birds in my yard for a few days.
Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.

Thank you Eileen. For hosting and for your beautiful birds. I hardly had critter pictures this week , just two little birds, but I don’t feel like I really blogged at all unless I link up here.
Again, these are beautiful close-ups of the birds. This woodpecker or the rose-breasted grosbeak is a favorite to watch, but the thrush is also so tender.
I love your bird photo
Thank you and I wish you a happy weekend, hugs Elke
It is so wonderful that from your house you can see a woodpecker pecking and I love the look on that last bird towards you. Thanks for hosting, stay safe and have a great weekend.
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos! The Hermit Thrush are very pretty.
Happy Weekend!
Happy Mother's Day! Always a joy to see these cute feathered critters. Have a wonderful weekend.
As always Eileen, you share such sharp photos of birds. Always a pleasure to see them.
Hugs
Joy
I hear wood peckers often in our parks, but I've never seen one.
Thank you for hosting.
Hello Eileen,
What a beautiful series of photos of the Pileated Woodpecker, the Rose-breasted Grosbeak and the Thrushes.
Everything photographed perfectly, I enjoyed it.
If you want to post my link, I can't.
I wish you a very nice weekend.
Best regards Irma
love these beautiful birds. I thing the birds are as confused of seasons as we are. I think it is a bad thing for smaller birds like Thrusher´s and passerine birds. In one of out smaller lakes there is a few Smew´s and they should be up north by now.The grosbeak is a very graphic bird when it comes to coloring.
Take care, stay safe. Enjoy spring!
This particular woodpecker is even funny, with its red head.
The Hermit thrush is just lovely.
Thanks for sharing. They are nice to watch...
Have a serene and safe weekend!
Beautiful photos Eileen. The Rose-breasted Grosbeak is gorgeous and looking right at you to take a nice photo. Your place must be a rest stop for all these travelling birds. Have a wonderful day and weekend. Thanks for hosting and stay safe!
Hello Eileen, Happy mothers day!
Isn't it beautiful to be a mother? Even the little birds like that. The Pileated Woodpecker are that long? I did not know that ...
Very nice photos today! I wish you a nice weekend!
What a great view you have from your deck! It must take some of the sting out of sequestering at home! Stay safe.
Hello!
I just saw a Hermit Thrush here (Mississippi) a few days ago, but did not know what it was. Got an ID from David at Travels with Birds. Your photos are great! Beautiful photo of the Rose-breasted Grosbeak, too!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Lindo! Consegues sempre maravilhosas fotos e os olhinhos dos pássaros são demais de lindos! beijos, ótimo fds! chica
Thanks for showing us all those wonderful birds. In my garden we receive the very welcome visits from magpies, blackbirds and seagulls.
...it's snowing here this morning, the poprs of red are brightening my day, thanks. Happy Mother's Day.
We have a dusting of snow this morning, which is truly discouraging in May. Our first Rose- breasted Grosbeak showed up yesterday and I am sure he is not impressed!
Wonderful photos! Happy Mother's Day to you as well. Enjoy your weekend.
What great shots, Eileen!

Another great array of our feathered friends - I love that last shot!!! Here's to a fine weekend to everyone - but especially mothers. YAM xx
I love the pileated! It's been too cold for a lot of our spring birds. We have hermit thrushes in our forest. Crazy times.
Thanks for hosting! TTL
cutie pie thrush, i like small fluffy tiny sweet little birds like they are.
We saw the Hermit Thrush quite a bit here in the winter. It's nice to know what leaves and what to expect! I just walk around amazed all of the time! I love your Grosbeck! What a beautiful bird! Have a good weekend! I hope you can get out in nature! Hugs!
Loe the pileated woodpecker, haven't seen on in our garden this year, but they do live up the back hill. It is a very chilly weekend, some places even had sprinklings of snow.
i do not see any of these beautiful birds here at my feeders. i have always longed to see the pileated woodpecker but never have. same with the grosbeak, such a pretty bird, and your pictures are gorgeous!! too bad the grosbeak doesn't stay, if i were a bird, i would stay, you put out such a nice spread! hehehe
happy mothers day and many thanks for hosting!!
Hi Eileen, thank you for sharing your vibrant birds. I love the Hermit Thrush. I'm linking to your meme as always; thank you for hosting. Stay safe and be well. Jo
Good morning Eileen. I'm still trying to capture a Pileated Woodpecker. I see one occasionally, but never when I have my camera! Love the Grosbeak, too. Have a wonderful week ahead!
You have such a beautiful variety of birds! Joining in today with my " new neighbors" !
The Woodpecker looks huge, and such a long neck. Love the Hermit Thrush too.
Happy Mother's Day, Eileen, I hope you have a wonderful day.
Beautiful Pileated---good shots.
Happy Mother's Day to you

That woodpecker is a gem. I’ve only seen one and couldn’t get a photo! Thank you for sharing.
PS: That woodpecker is rather magnificent!
All the best for the new week, Eileen.
I've only seen a couple of Pileated Woodpeckers ever and was so thrilled when I did. It is cold up here this morning so the birds must have sensed that they should wait a wile before heading north!
Hello Eileen. That way the the Pileated Woodpecker holds its head looks like it means to do some serious work on those trees. There must be tremendous strength in its body, head and bill to make the cavities it does. Like you say I suppose the hermit Thrush could be a late migrant and not the one or more you have watched all winter. it's a lovely looking if quite delicate and subtly plumaged thrush compared to some of your more colourful birds. Just like the grosbeak I think!
Enjoy your Sunday and Mother's Day. We had ours weeks ago.
Thank you Nick! I always appreciate your visits and comments. Have a happy weekend!
