Photos may look familiar, but they have not been shared till now. They are from different walks on the NCR trail, the local fire roads and my back yard.

1. Aug 20th, scenes from the NCR trail in the Parkton area. Miney at the bridge looking down stream.
From the trail, I could see a Red-shouldered Hawk sitting on a fence.
2. I am guessing this is shelf or bracket fungi. It reminds me of a 3 tier bird bath or fountain.
3. Aug 21, my backyard Monarch butterflies. I was able to capture to Monarch butterflies close together on our butterfly bush.
4. Aug 22nd, our walk to Prettyboy lake with Miney and hubby.
5. I heard a lot of birds, but this Great Blue Heron was the only bird I captured with my camera.
6. My flashback photos are from Curacao 2012, the Crested Caracara was a treat to see standing next to the road acting like a vulture. This bird is also known as a Mexican Eagle. It is seen in only a few southern US states.
7. Two Crested Caracara in flight.
8. More Flashback images from Florida 2017, one of my favorite birds seen in Florida was the Crested Caracara. This bird behaves like a vulture but it is a falcon. Often seen walking on the ground and eating off of a carcass.
A tall bird, has yellowish-orange legs and a black cap.

Good morning, dear Eileen. What a fascinating experience to see by yourself the caracaras flying. I saw and heard about these magnificent birds in a documentary on television. We love these documentaries by the way, mostly from the BBC. Highly recommended!

I have never seen a caracara. it does resemble and eagle love the tiny bird bathon the tree and sweet Miney peering over the fence.
Amazing photos of the fungus, yes probably bracket fungus, and the caracara, a bird we would not normally see. Enjoy the weekend.

I thought the same as you when I saw your photos of the fungi growing on the tree. It looks like there should be water flowing over them. While picking your flashback photos to share with us, I always think what a great way for you to relive the wonderful adventures you experienced over the years!

That caracara is interesting. I have a tik-tok person I am following who lives in Houston, Texas. She decided she wanted to take photos of birds so she grabbed a camera and went to a local park and the first bird she found was a Caracara. Kind of unique bird to be number one somebody's life list.

The Crested Cara Cara is an impressive sight and your photos are exceptional. The three tiered mushroom find is so unusual. I have never seen either mushrooms like that, or the Crested Car Cara falcon. Great sighting of the Red-Shouldered Hawk and the Blue Heron and lovely photos of the Monarchs.

It is good to see that you have Monarch Butterflies since I have only seen a few of them this year. Maybe it has been too hot for them and the drought wasn't great for the milkweed.
Like the picture of Miney getting a better look. :) Cool looking fungi. The crested caracara is amazing. I've never seen or heard of it.
