"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." John Muir
These are my nature walks with hubby and Miney, these images are from various parks we visited. Hubby and I were able to visit some of our Maryland State Parks, Gunpowder State Park, North Point State Park in Baltimore County and the Susquehanna River State Park and Conowingo Dam.
1. We walked the Black Marsh Trail at North Point State Park. We saw a few Osprey, Eastern Phoebes and the Belted Kingfisher.
2. At the end of the Black Marsh trail we had a good view of the Chesapeake Bay. I had a good view of the Eastern Bluebird and an American Goldfinch.
3. We walked on the NCR trail which is part of the Gunpowder State Park.
4. Another day and another walk on the local NCR bike trail.
On the NCR trail my Merlin app was picking up the sounds of some winter birds like the Golden-crowned Kinglet and the Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
5. It was too early to see the Eagles migrating, that usually happens later in November. We did see a few Bald Eagles, Double-crested Cormorants and the Great Blue Herons.
6. The Black Vultures are still plentiful near the Conowingo Dam and the Susquehanna River.
I can usually always see the Great Blue Herons along the Susquehanna River.
7. Flashback photos are of various Kingfishers, seen here in the USA, Belize and Costa Rica.
First I am sharing the male and female Belted Kingfishers seen in the USA.
8. The Amazon Kingfisher was seen in Costa Rica.
The Green Kingfisher was seen in both Costa Rica and Belize.
The Ringed Kingfisher was seen in both Costa Rica and Belize.

Hi Eileen, you come across so many beautiful birds on your walks. I absolutely love ❤️ this series of captures. Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you have a great weekend.
You three must have felt so relaxed and great after such a wonderful morning routine with so many cute animals.
I'll get back to you later, dear Eileen!
The sparrows are chirping amid the earthy scent of petrichor now.
This is a great moment to read your post and know about your various kinds of birds.
Good morning, dear blog friend Eileen. I got up later today.
The nights are getting longer and longer now.
Your railway walk is always fascinating. You show birds and I wonder if I can identify them. There are only a few. And I am always amazed by the surprising variety.
Thank you for sharing and for hosting 🍁 🍁 🍁
Greetings by Heidrun ❤️

Hi Eileen,
This is a beautiful series of photos.
It's wonderful that you take Miney for a walk every day, it's good for both of you.
Photos 11, 12, and 14 are my favorites.

Gunpowder State Park is a strange name! The female Belted Kingfisher is supercute! Ohhhh... Have a super-crittery Saturday :-)
Hello Eileen,
Wonderful photos! It's nice to see the Bald Eagle, and the sculpture of it was very pretty. The white and blue Kingfisker is very beautiful.
Take care, and enjoy your day!
Hope you are doing well. Beautiful post as always, Awesome series of photos, Amazing birds. Happy weekend. Thanks a lot for hosting.
One of the best views I have ever seen is the beauty of nature rivers, mountains, underwater bridges, and flocks of birds flying over my head. I feel like I am in heaven, becoming part of the great nature God created. It is so lovely to remember, share, and enjoy these moments while we are still alive on this earth.
Greetings from Indonesia.
I like the exotic birds from Costa Rica . Your vultures made me think of the ones we always had here. they disappeared in 2020 and have not come back, for a brief few days last year we saw 3 or 4 but they are gone now. the sky was always full of them taking care of the road kills. I don't know if the storms, the lack of rain, or the Covid killed or moved them away. they have always fascinated me. I do love that kingfisher.

You gather such lovely shots of all these walks and bring us right into your environment. Having Miney for company surely adds to your walks! YAM xx
Lovely walks, and lots of different birds to see. Hope things are going well for you.
Dear Eileen,
It was such a pleasure to go virtual birdwatching with you and sweet Miney 😊. Whenever I read “Chesapeake Bay,” I always think of my brother’s former dog, Apoll, who was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. (Now he has a friendly Labrador lady named Kira — I’m sure she and Miney would get along very well.)
I’m also happy that by now I’ve been able to see some of the North American birds you show on your blog — some together with David, and others (like the Bald Eagle) in BC. I find kingfishers incredibly difficult to photograph, but you’ve managed it several times! (David’s wife Miriam succeeded with the Belted Kingfisher, whereas Edi and I failed completely — the same thing happened to us in Costa Rica.)
All the best to you, a gentle scratch behind the ears for sweet Miney, and a happy weekend!

Lovely shots, Eileen, I especially liked the kingfishers! Thanks for hosting, have a great new week!
Some state parks are especially lovely for walking and it looks like you have sound several. Wonderful bird photos. I'll bet Miney loves it!
Your comment made me think: winter birds. Our birds have migrated, and mostly our winter birds are our year-round birdies. Some do come from the high north, but they pass through.
Great photos! You've had amazing birding trips.
Miney is a sweetie.
King Fishers are such cool birds. Well, a lot are, but I find it amazing how the Kingfisher will just sit on a branch high above the water only to jump up and glide into a dive and coming up with a minnow. So cool!
...Eileen, you have been out and about and have seen so many wonderful things. Thanks for sharing them and hosting the party. Take care and be well.
Love the kingfishers…well all the birds really. The first time I saw a vulture it was flying overhead. Not a place you want to see them.
I'm amazed at your kingfisher collection, showing so many from different places! And a bald eagle still gives me a thrill.
Hi Eileen! Lovely place, birds, and pictures. Happy weekend and week ahead..
Your deep love of nature and birds really comes out in your posts. Such an amazing variety of birds over the years.
Thank you for hosting.
It is interesting to see the different Kingfishers, Eileen. Have a good week.
what a great walk, providing sightings on many beautiful birds. all of my warm weather birds have gone for winter...not all of my winter birds have arrived. i have been seeing so many warblers lately. a very nice sighting of the bald eagle, they left a while ago along with our osprey!! i enjoyed seeing your flashbacks, the kingfisher, they are such an unusual looking bird!! have a great weekend, wishing you both health and happiness...many thanks for hosting!!
Wonderful birds and great photos ~ love Miney too ~ You are a true birder ~ Happy Weekend to you ~ hugs,

Such a nice bunch of fun critters today!!!
The vultures are formidable.
I think it is such a luxury to be able to walk through so many places, with all that wonderful scenery and wildlife. It's always a pleasure following you and hubby and Miney on all your walkabouts.
I enjoyed seeing your wonderful collection of such a variety of birds. I am always intrigued with a kingfisher as I have never seen one in the wild. Thanks for hosting .
Thanks for sharing this collection of critters. I particularly appreciate the Black vultures, the Eagles and the Kingfishers. I do like Kingfishers.
Happy weekend and sunny Sunday to you!
Wonderful walks and garden. Wow--the only time I've seen Kingfishers were in Australia! The black vultures were also interesting to see. I actually saw robins in our area this morning--I think they are confused by our persisting warm weather, Denver might break a record for late snow date--we already broke a record for consistent days without snow from springtime to now. It is disturbing as so many rivers rely on snowpack from our state.
I will be busy this week preparing for Thanksgiving--15 of us for dinner this year, and I do all the cooking!
Wow, you really bring those walks to life—makes me feel like I’m right there spotting all those birds with you. The kingfisher shots are stunning.
These kingfishers are the ones that I haven't seen before
Were the vultures there for food or just haning around? (I think what I know of vultures might be from cartoons...)
So many great photos of a variety of birds!!!
I never knew there was such a variety of Kingfishers! Speaking of variety, you have such a variety of Parks to wander through, lucky you!

We have a busy kingfisher outside our window quite often. He's always talking.
It's always a pleasure to admire your photos of the wild side of Maryland.
This time, it was a very interesting variety of birds and the beautiful Miney...
I also enjoyed seeing the small garden with the eagle sculpture and the small chrysanthemum bushes. In Portugal, it's also their season.
Health and pleasant days.
