Hello Happy Monday,
Some images and the latest from my corner of the world and my neighborhood.
On Feb 3rd, we had a warm sunny day, perfect for a walk to the lake. Just a short drive around the other side of our lake is one of my favorite places to walk. I wanted to take the fire road to the lake where we can see the eagles nest.
"One touch of nature makes the whole world kin." William Shakespeare
Walking along the fire road, I heard various woodpeckers, we saw the Northern Flicker and theTufted Titmouse were fussing at us. I could here some Kinglets, Chickadees, there were one or two Common Mergansers on the lake with a group of Canada Geese.
I could hear and see 2 juvenile Bald Eagles flying over us as we walked down the fire road. They may be the juveniles born last year.
"Adopt the pace of nature; her secret is patience." Ralph Waldo Emerson
I looked across the lake to see the nest, it did not look like the Bald Eagle is there unless it is laying down low. There was one adult Bald Eagle in a near by tree.
At the end of the fire road we take a smaller trail that follow along the lake shore.
Me and my shadow at the lake.
Views of our lake and the Canada Geese.
The adult Bald Eagle sitting in a tree not far from the nest.
A pretty view of the lake
The is a view of the field across from the parking lot at the beginning of the fire road.
