Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Hello and happy Saturday!

Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

My Grand-dogs are the only critters I have been seeing lately. I do hear some birds on our local walks with the dogs. A small group of Tufted Titmouse were fussing at us from their perches above our heads.  My yard birds have just disappeared.

1. I have found a good use for the hair my grand-dog sheds. Below the archived photo is a Tufted Titmouse grabbing my old dog Goldie Girl's hair for a nest.  The Titmouse has a mouthful of dog hair.

2. From my archives, a closeup of a Tufted Titmouse.

These images below are all from my archives, birds seen during the month of February 2019 through Feb 2022.

3. A backyard male Eastern Bluebird.

4. A backyard American Goldfinch.

5. A group of Yellow-rumped Warblers seen Feb 2021 in Assateague Island Md.

6. Feb 2021, our backyard Pileated Woodpecker

7. Feb 2020 At the Prettyboy reservoir, A Bald Eagle perched in a tree not too far from the nest.

8. Feb 7, 2022 a morning walk with Nibbles and Winnie on the fire road and to the lake.

This post was a mish-mash, archived photos of some of my favorite birds and my grand-dogs Nibbles and Winnie.

There are times I visit my archives for critter photos. These are from Feb 2017.  A few of my favorite things..my favorite birds seen in various Florida parks.

1. The Roseate Spoonbills were seen in various parks like Circle B, Merritt Island NWR and Ding Darling NWR.

2. The Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were seen every day in our Lakeland neighborhood. These ducks are one of my favorites, they are so darn cute.

3. A group of White Pelicans were seen corralling their food at the Viera Wetlands.

4. The Anhinga could be seen all around Florida.

5. The Limpkin has one of the craziest and distinct sounds I have ever heard, they are very loud too.

6. This Yellow-crowned Night Heron seen with a crab, was seen at the Ding Darling NWR.

7. The Purple Gallinule is seen all around Florida too,  a detail that help me id this bird is the sky blue frontal shield above the red and yellow bill.  We saw them every day in our Lakeland neighborhood and the nearby parks.

8.  Our Lakeland backyard, was a nice spot to see various birds like these 3 Sandhill Cranes.

Every day of our stay in Florida, from Oct to March 2017 was like a vacation day. We visited parks and beaches, lots of great restaurants and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

9.  Extra, Extra read all about it! Our grandson Wyatt had a very happy 1st birthday on 2-15.

1. One of our morning walks with the grand-dogs to the lake, the Eastern Bluebird was the only bird I was able to get some photos.

2. The grand-dogs are enjoying their walks, they are definitely getting a lot more exercise while staying at their home away from home.

3. The fire road trail to the lake still has some snow and ice.

4. Winnie the Corgi enjoys the walk, so many new smells.

5. An Eastern Bluebird collage, I saw a little flock of Bluebirds near the lake.

6. The temperature during our walk was in the low 30's, I stopped long enough to take some photos of the dogs and the Bluebirds.

7. I see something down there, maybe a bug to eat.

8. The Male Eastern Bluebird looking beautiful.

These images are from my archives, from when we lived in Florida from Oct 2016-March 2017. During this time hubby and I visited many Florida parks and were able to see many different species of wild birds. The Burrowing Owls seen in Cape Coral Florida was one of my favorite bird sightings. I love owls.

1. This Burrowing Owl looking serious or giving me the evil eye. I was not close to any of the birds, my camera has good zoom.

2. Burrowing Owls spend most of their time on the ground, the burrows where they roost and nest are just holes in the ground are located in open habitat.

3.  The Burrowing Owls of Cape Coral Florida must be used to people and dogs, their nests are close to a neighborhood ball field.

4. Peeping out of the burrow, a cute Burrowing Owl.

5. Two Burrowing Owls are watching something.

6. The Burrowing Owl is so cute, one of my many favorite birds.
