Saturday's Critters #118

Saturday's Critters #118

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

Hubby and I took a walk on the trail next to the Monocacy River in Frederick County, Maryland. Below are some of the birds I saw including the cool Great Horned Owl.

Great Horned Owl seen off the trail.

A snoozing Great Horned Owl. I wish I could make that tree branch disappear, but that is not happening.

Singing Redwing Blackbird.

Besides the birds above, we also saw a group of white-tailed deer running off into the woods. I hope you enjoy my owl and all the other birds from our walk.

As always thanks for the visits and the nice comments. I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

Saturday's Critters #117

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

I am looking forward to seeing my spring/summer birds move back in. In the meantime I just have a few yardbirds to share this week. I hope you enjoy.

The Common Grackles look pretty with their shiny colorful feathers.

Above is an occasional back yard visitor the Red-wing Blackbird.

The Pine Siskins are not regular visitors but sometimes I see a few of them once in while at my feeders.

I've been seeing the American Robins everywhere lately. What yard birds are you seeing now?

As always thanks for the visits and the nice comments. I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

Charlotte's Quest Nature Center

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Through My Lens   and Our World Tuesday    and NF Trees

They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun  and check out some of the participating posts.

It's a new day and a new week, start off fresh to accomplish your best! Happy Monday, everyone!

Hubby and I decided to visit a new local park nearby for our walk and to do some birding. The Pine Valley Park is adjacent to the Charlotte's Quest Nature Center. The nature center is located on 60 acres, has a pond, stream and wildlife and has 4 1/2 miles of hiking trails. The trails consists of fields, and a wooded area with the Pine trees and hardwood forest.

Above the parks picnic area, bridge and trail, Redwing blackbird, trail near field, catbirds, hardwood forest and ferns.

The Gray Catbird was a common bird seen that day along with the Redwing Blackbirds. Other birds were heard more than seen like the Ovenbird, Wood Thrush and the American Robins.

For my NF Tree entry a view of the pine and hardwood trees seen at the park.

A view of the pond and barn, a Redwing Blackbird and some colorful weeds.

I do not think the barn is part of the park property but it is adjacent to the property and pond. There is a trail around the pond with benches. I really liked the reflection of the barn.

I like the round window on this barn and the reflection of the barn in the pond.

I hope you enjoyed our walk and the images. Also, thank you for stopping by and for the nice comments. Have a great day and new week ahead.

I use Pic Monkey to create my mosaics, you can use Pic Monkey free or pay for an upgraded version.

I hope you can join in on our fun with Mosaic Monday  and Through My Lens
and  Our World Tuesday and NF Trees and Bushes.

Thanks to Judith our host of Mosaic Monday and to Mersad of Through My Lens and the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer and to Monica for hosting NF Trees.

Saturday's Critters #73

Saturday's Critters #73

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!!

Happy weekend, everyone!  It's Saturday and it's time to share your critters.. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who has linked up in the past and for those who are linking in on this week's critter party. And of course I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit.

I am sharing some birds and critters from a local park called Hashawha Nature Center..This park has some great trails and we always seem to see some kind of wildlife during our walks. On this day we saw birds, deer and lots of turtles..

A pretty Eastern Bluebird

A White-tailed Deer

White-throated Sparrows and a Goldfinch bathing in the puddles.

These turtles could be the Red-eared Slider. It has a red stripe on each side of its head.. Their name comes from their ability to slide off rock and logs easily.

A Canada Goose popped it's head up out of the grass as we walked by..

Not sure if these are more Red-eared Sliders or are they the Painted Turtle?

The Redwing Blackbirds are common for this park, especially near the marsh land. I hope you enjoyed my birds and critters. I am looking forward to your critters..Thank you for the visits and for all the nice comments.. As always I appreciate your participating with my critter party..Have a happy weekend!

Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to  Jennifer for creating my photo badge.
